port perran

This came up on my playlist this afternoon and for me it's a bit of an ear worm but I do like it.
Sonny Landreth and some bloke from Dire Straits :
I'm sure I'll get used to cream first soon.

I had to look up the meaning of "ear worm" Martin @port perran ! I rather like it, jolly and catchy - nice one.

Where have you been, Tim? :D

I rate Knopfler as a great guitarist but wasn't over keen on that track

Love this song. Tortured family, though with a few of them dying young.

Sorry - too flowery for me I'm afraid.

Even by 60s standards that's definitely a
Pushy Mom gets her kidss on stage ::)

Was it the mom? I thought it was the dad.

I'm not sure some Mdou Moctar's guitar doesn't break the laws of physics  :) but it makes great chilling music for today

Wow! That's different. I really liked it. Thanks for posting it

port perran

I rather like African music with a bit of a Western feel and am quite impressed with Mdou Moctar whose included in a few of my playlists.
Not so sure about this particular track though.
I'm sure I'll get used to cream first soon.

Everybody should have 'Going up the country','On the road again' and this in their collection.

Agreed. A great little band.

I haven't a clue about the lyrics but I really like the overall sound of this track from 'Tago Mago' (I have the double album on vinyl)

port perran

Not for me I'm afraid.
I was into Kraut Rock about 50 odd years ago with the likes of Can, Amon Duul, Faust and a few others but for me it very much hasn't weathered well.
It's a thumbs down for me.
I'm sure I'll get used to cream first soon.

Martin @port perran , back in the early 70s I didn't really take to Krautrock but was aware of some of the bands. About 15 years ago an old school chum gave me a second bite of the cherry, I rather liked this band Guru Guru, here they are with "Space Baby"...

Sort of Gong meets Man. Mick @Newportnobby , the Can was OK-ish!

Tim

PS the Kokoroko was rather pleasant.
