I couldn't resist another 600 warship at £89.50 from Rails of Sheffield, and added weathering. it arrived a couple of days ago and this is the first chance that I have had to show it off.

this is the first time that I have added basic weathering to a diesel loco and I think that it's not bad at all. as for the bogies? 5 minutes work with a swiss file - It took me longer to  get the body off to switch off the cab lights (I wonder why Farish ship DC locos with them on?)

As I normally scratch/kit build etc it's not often I buy anything new but have just received my G. Fawkes gunpowder van. Definitely a rule 1 purchase but a cracking model with livery beautifully applied  :)

I received the replacement keeper plates for my D601 from Bachmann today - very speedy delivery. Simple enough to swap with the dodgy ones, and at the same time I popped the body off to fit a chip and permanently switch of the cab lights (as they wouldn't seem to turn off using F3 and 4 as shown on the instructions).

It has been running in for a couple of hours now, the mechanism is very smooth and quiet. Aside from the "hiccup" with the bogies it must be said it is a very nice model indeed.

The 'Guido Fawkes' gunpowder van and triple pack of Iron Minks in BR (W) arrived today.
Very, very nice and free running.

After seeing the Trumpton inspired wagons produced by Robbie Burns elsewhere on the forum, I thought I'd ask if he could extend the set to make a rake of eight which is needed for an Inglenook shunting puzzle layout. I think he's come up trumps (or should that be Trumptonshire!).
