With my curiosity roused, I did a bit of digging regarding Emmy Lou Harris and came upon a concert from  2013 with Jackson Browne and Joan Baez.

The sound and video quality is sadly lacking but here's a well known song - Guantanamera :

They also covered my favourite Joan Baez song, Diamonds and Rust, but the video quality is very poor :

I'm sure I'll get used to cream first soon.

I have always liked this sad tale by Alison Krauss...

Not as much fun as Martin's EH, JB and JB.

Very nice indeed @Moonglum

Interesting @Newportnobby . I'm no fan of Bob Dylan singing, although I like many of his compositions.
This works though with fine accompaniment from EH.
I'm sure I'll get used to cream first soon.

He can be an acquired taste as many just think he drones but I rate him on this track which has some great lyrics

Mrs (then Miss) Moonglum bought "Desire" by Bob Dylan and it's the only album of his that I can listen to. Emmylou Harris did an album called "Wrecking Ball" which is worth a listen, here is the title track (penned by Neil Young)...

Produced by Daniel Lanois it's a bit different.

Strange... I never saw his lips move! Obviously sung by a ventriloquist  :D

If you like that - please search for 'Snowbird'.

The Table-Top Railway is an attempt to create, in British 'N' gauge,  a 'semi-scenic' railway in the old-fashioned style, reminiscent of the layouts of the 1930s to the 1950s.

Slowly but surely I think I can see a pattern emerging here with John's @Train Waiting musical tastes! I do remember Ann Murrey's "Snowbird" hit back in 1970, it's a pleasant song but it was up against a certain (rather loud) band from Birmingham that I was also listening to (a lot) at the that time.

I too remember Snowbird.
That's pretty much all I know about Anne Murray until now when, of course, I've had a little listen to some of her releases.
I didn't know she was Canadian either.
I'm sure I'll get used to cream first soon.

One of those pieces of music that made me sit up and think "Wow" the first time I heard it

I'm no Queen fan although I respect their music and I admire Brian May and his various achievements enormously.

However, the first time I heard this I was simply transfixed :

It is of course Bohemian Rhapsody which is to my mind an absolute classic and an extraordinary piece of music.

PS I have a claim to fame in that I met, and spoke to, Roger Taylor twice in Cornwall within about 3 days.
I'm sure I'll get used to cream first soon.

Released in 1975, it certainly had a "wow" factor about it Martin @port perran . I cannot be totally sure but I think I first heard it blasting out through a PA system at a concert held at Harrow Technical College. The band I went to see was none other than Hatfield and the North.

The very first time I heard Queen was in a kitchen of a very large house on Hampstead Heath, North London (a bit of an eye opener for me I'll say). I was working for a building company during the summer holidays of '73. The au pair made us a nice cuppa and "Keep Yourself Alive" came on the radio...

We all looked at each other and said who is that!

I have never owned anything by Queen, and whilst liking some of their songs felt that they became a stadium band churning out stadium anthems.

A (sadly late) volunteer pal of mine at the National Trust had worked his entire life at EMI and had many tales to tell. He told me that Freddy Mercury was quite shy but always happy to have a chat when they met up. My pal ended up as sales director of EMI's Classical Records division.

Cheers,

Tim
