Just fitted a sound decoder to my new 5MT. In my small shed the built-in speaker is plenty loud enough and it sounds great!
Finally, after waiting over 55 years I am building a permanent layout in a purpose built shed!

Not my style of music, but I like the model and video integration.

Many tracks composed by John Barry.
He's probably best known for all the Bond music he wrote but there's also some greats like themes from 'King Rat', the haunting 'Seance on a wet afternoon', 'Midnight Cowboy', 'The Lion in Winter', 'The Ipcress File' and TV stuff like 'The Persuaders'
Sadly missed.

Maybe, just maybe, one for @Train Waiting

A long shot but just a hunch that @Train Waiting  approves of  Glen Campbell.
If so, here he is with one of my favourite more modern day (well since the 90s) female vocalists.
This  is Glen Campbell with Hope Sandoval performing The Long Walk Home.

And for those who know her not, Hope Sandoval is very well respected for her work with Mazzy Star (who are they I hear folk say  :) )

So....for those who don't know Mazzy Star here's a brief introduction :
I'm sure I'll get used to cream first soon.

I first heard of Mazzy Star on the TV hospital show 'House' (Hugh Laurie) and downloaded the track 'Into dust'

Absolutely correct, Martin.  I most certainly approve of Mr Campbell, as, in a very different way, did Tanya Tucker, but that's another story.

Jolly nice music, thank you.

Imagine - university flat - late 1970s - three chaps playing weird noises on the shared 'stereo'.  Am I imagining it or was one weird noise courtesy of a fellow called Graham Parker?

BUT.  We had LP record turns each and I annoyed them with 'Sounds of the West Somerset', Kenny Rogers, Blondie and ... Glen Campbell.  How they failed to appreciate Glen Campbell.  But, of course, he had an amazing talent as this shows - just look at Willie Nelson and Roy Clark appreciating him 'playing one'.  As for the lovely Chrystal Gayle, she appears to be enchanted.

Thanks again and best wishes.

John

The Table-Top Railway is an attempt to create, in British 'N' gauge,  a 'semi-scenic' railway in the old-fashioned style, reminiscent of the layouts of the 1930s to the 1950s.

Well chaps, we certainly are moving in a different musical direction @Train Waiting and @port perran . I liked this little ditty when growing up and knew a lovely girl* (big Pink Floyd fan) who also liked this...

* Wish I could see her again, I last saw her with her fiancé in the mid 70s and that was that.

Cheers,

Tim

In complete contrast, this popped up tonight on Planet Rock's "Rock Block", a rather good cover of an iconic number from 1969, I have not heard April Wine before...

Great guitar interplay but not for John @Train Waiting I am afraid. I first heard this on the ubiquitous "Nice Enough to Eat" Island sampler.

Cheers,

Tim

And... who said today's youngsters cannot play decent music...

Enjoy...

Thanks for those links Tim.
I reckon I saw King Crimson play 21st Century Schizoid Man live four times.

I'm afraid though that I'm not really taken with the April Wine version but those kids have done a pretty darned good job.

Cheers
