@RailGooner sorry to hear your backs bad Mark. I have bad days with my back, but not on a scale like yours, so you have my sympathy.

Don't worry, we've all thought you thought you were wittier than you are.

Just kiddin'.

Take it easy bloke.

Sometimes you bite the dog...

...sometimes the dog bites you!

----------------------------------------------------------

I can explain it to you...

...but I can't understand it for you.

If you don't want to wait for the usual suppliers to get their stock from Bachmann the new 8F is available from selected eBay sellers at close to normal prices.
There may be spelling and grammatical errors in my posts, I am Dyslexic so just think yourself lucky you can actually read what I have written.

You don't need to point out my errors.  Thanks

This may give an insight to the problems faced by UK importers trying to get goods from China at present;

https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/business-54989299

Note that all three major UK container ports are affected to a degree, and its not just a UK problem.

Note also the increase in shipping costs; not so long ago, a 40' box rate was under $1000!

Osborns left Abingdon ten years ago now in Bideford near Barnstaple.
and the rest. Seems like a lifetime now

Flange Squeal

Couldn't folk make do with a nice WD Austerity instead? The shops seem overrun with unsold examples of those.

osborns

i have not read all these posts but if any are impling that the 8F is not yet in the shops they are incorrect. The non sound versions arrived with us yesterday and the sound version is expected within 14 days.

Just ordered one from Osborns

All 3 are showing as in stock at Arcadia Rail this morning. If you are local to Shaw and want one quickly he is doing click and collect as well as mail order.

but we have had to refund with profuse apologies as we have sold out of this line number and there are no more available at bachmann so if anyone is looking to purchase a late crest one do not delay. I read above that Arcadia has stocks.

I thought Late Crest ones weren't going to be available for another two weeks? Or do you mean you have pre-sold your allocation?

osborns

very sorry it is the early crest 372-162 that is o.o.s. with us.
a typo or more likely a rushed error.

Southerngooner

My early crest version arrived this morning from John Dutfield and has now been given a full running in. Seems to run well, looks good too. Just need to weather and detail it a bit and it'll be ready for whenever James Street goes out again, or when I get Brickmakers Lane up and running. Both are looking unlikely until at least mid-2020!

Is/was a late crest version available without sound?

Hi

Are we rerunning the current year then 😃

I really hope not.
