The deed is done. Inevitable it would be a boy after all the hurried changes to the law of succession!

I know there will be grumbles, but hey, they have a very precious gift and we should all congratulate them...

I hope the sister of the lady with the cutest posterior in the UK is well, and that my future monarch has a happy life

At last the U.S. TV crews can pack up and go home now. Some of them have been there for 3 weeks :o
At least they didn't cop a thunderstorm :D

Don't tell anyone but I have them all convinced at work that on the Birth of a future Monach for the UK, the following day is an offical Public Holiday for all British Citizens - even if you are abroad...

See you all on Wednesday lads...   :beers:

Possible monarch.. the republicans may have won by then .. come to think of it the ages some of them seem to live to with all that luxury medical care half of them may never make the throne anyway/

You might wanna tell the yanks....... They seem more interested than most folk in the UK. I wish em well and all but I could really do without the media going into a frenzy for the next two weeks over it....................... :whiteflag:

Yeah, I don't get it.  We Yanks fought for our independence so that we wouldn't have to care about a royal baby and yet it's all over the "news" here.  I actually wonder if it's less about the baby and more about if the mother will revert to being as thin as a stick now that little junior has popped out.

I certainly hope not.  She could do with putting on a few pounds.  :hmmm:

You're right, it's all over the evening news here in Philadelphia - the birthplace of American Independence anyone ???

As a naturalized American, I am in the 'don't give a hoot' camp although I wish the new family well  :-\

Is this gooey thread bordering on politics ?
Is this a suitable topic ?

If so then :-
my view is coincident with a comment on TV this evening :-
if choosing a head of state by "first born" is such a good idea then can we look forward to lots of hereditory little Camerons as future PMs ?

What a lot of fawning going on.

To wish the family well is fair enough on a personal and  humanitarian etc&etc basis of course.
But to accept them as default head of state forever is going a tad too far !
Well, I mean,,, once upon a time we had the option of changing the family (remember Lancaster, York, Stuart even ! ) what chance now,,, stuck with them !
That is only partly tongue-in-cheek !!!!!

I didn't know Kelly Brook had a sister. :D

Seriously though,am I not the only one fed up of hearing about nothing but the royal baby?

They're married, they do things and a baby is born, lots of people do the same and we hear nothing about it.Who cares, they're people just like you and me,albeit with a bit of status.

To balance things up a touch,I haven't heard or read a single thing about World Supersport Championship rider,Andrea Antonello's very premature and tragic death during the Supersport race in Russia on sunday.

Just thought I'd say.

The original topic was not political, it's a piece of news about a baby so is perfectly suitable

However, some of the replies are getting political and we do not want a monarchy V republic debate starting up ;)

As for the news coverage it's always the same, more time given to 'celebrity' goings-on or some sports thing rather than REAL important news, hence why I never watch TV news or read the papers :)
