Don't think I'll bother to watch the news for a week or 3.  :)
I keep forgetting to add Cheers Mike on the end of my posts....

:laughabovepost: :laughabovepost: I'm so with you on that thought and the news papers won't have any real news in for weeks, It'll be as if nothing else in the world matters.

We 'have' to have channel 80 (BBC news) on the TV in reception where I work. You would think that there was nothing else happening on the planet today...  :'(

Perhaps you guys know now how we feel as we have to put up with incessant sport for nearly 365 days a year at least this will be over within a couple of days and you can all go back to your boring football, cricket etc  (insert your sport here).  You love the fun that creates these events and then the after effects when you have your kids and grand kids running around, this will be our future King or Queen and so is a very special event in the history of the UK.

Just saying, that's all.  [gets off soap box, collects coat and looks for the door]

I love the Monachy Caz and was in the Mall with my children for the Golden and Diamond Jubilee's. Fantastic events they where to.
For me, it just seems as if the media go totally over board  :)

This will be the 6 o'clock News tonight (and the next few er many):

The first 24 mins news !! an oxymoron I think, all about the Royal birth then the next 2 mins all about the start of WW3 :D

I wish I was jokin'

I agree with Caz (except about the sport - RUGBY btw) and I also agree with Trev.

It is a very important event (the birth of any child is) but since 7.30 this morning when the Duchess of Cambridge was admitted to hospital Sky News has basically been reporting nothing and has been reporting nothing all day.

Now this is not unusual but in my opinion, it does constitute lazy and poor reporting.  Better to say nothing and wait for the birth or at least accurately report on events if there was an event report on...

I think Simon McCoy (BBC News) is great. He really can't see the point of being there and he isn't hiding it.

One quote I heard from him "and the news is - there isn't any". I'm amazed the BBC haven't replaced him but I'm really glad they haven't.  8)
