Just had a call from Preston hospital saying they've had a cancellation so could I go for the MRI scan I've been waiting nearly a year for on Feb 12th at 08.15. Course I can, even though it will mean getting up at silly o'clock to avoid all the rush hour crap. In the meantime I need to get to Chorley hospital next week sometime for a chest X ray, the results of which are needed by the MRI team

I hope it all goes well.
Is getting to Chorley a problem?

Being (long) retired I don't tend to get out of bed before 8 - 9 ack emma* but to ensure I miss the rush hour and get a parking space I really need to be at Chorley hospital by about 08.00 so leave at about 07.30

*Especially if I have a rough night. Usually I can anywhere between 5 - 7 hours of sleep but not necessarily in one go. A stretch of bad nights can result in me sleeping for up to 10 -11 hours!!

The most amazing thing has happened!

SE WATER HAVE FINALLY LIFTED THE HOSEPIPE BAN!!

Huzzah!! We can now go out in the rain and water our gardens again.

Had a terrible experience at a vietnamese place we regularly visited a couple of weeks back, owner away, staff clueless etc.

Today at teatime the doorbell rings and the owner of said restuarant is standing outside with a surprise set of our favourite dishes boxed up to apologize.

Really amazing gesture.

Not often I post in here 'cos I'm a miserable old git, but in the latest Farish announcements they're doing another run of the C class 0-6-0 tender loco, INCLUDING THE GORGEOUS SECR  LIVERY!!

I just wish they'd bitten the bullet and gone for the original Wainwright livery rather than another run of the simplified version but at least another run suggests there is demand for pre grouping liveries 

Rails advised today they have the C class in stock so my pre-ordered SECR liveried should be with me in the next few days

I bought one of the NER hoppers from Cheltenham Model Centre's stand at Ally Pally, the green BSC Cantley Railway one - they had only three of the wagons left in total!

It is a beautiful model, and in my opinion worth the £25 I paid for it. I can see a lot of them appearing on colliery and industrial layouts in particular, but they did get onto main lines too well into the 50s I believe.

I preordered hoppers so I am hopeful I get part of Rail's allocation.
