I don't seem to have posted my full rake of 4 sets of Cartics on this thread so here they are. The whole video is very Ford themed with a total of 216 Oxford Diecast Ford cars on show and that's just the ones on the Cartic rake and Kato transporter rake. You may see a few more dotted around on the layout. I think the people at OD like me as a customer  :D

Quote from: Southerngooner on April 05, 2025, 04:13:53 PMBest bargain in ages - 3 Mk1 coaches (latest tooling) in SR green, 2 BSKs and a CK, £36 the lot. Well done to Steve Wright for finding these in his local model shop!

Dave

Jammy! That's impressive...

And even better when Steve told me he'd got 10% off the marked £12 per coach. Three for the price of one! I think I owe him £32.40. That's an even better bargain!

Whisper it quietly but I might even have too many green Mk1s now....

L - R Navy, Air Force, Army (vans) and Merchant Navy (7 plank)

I already had the D Day 80th Anniversary 7 plank from last year

Donations to the British Legion are being made by Dapol for every wagon sold

My latest acquisition. Got it for just a few quid on a certain internet auction site.

I know it's not a British loco but by the time I've finished with it, it will be.
It didn't work at first but now I've got it going. Next plan is to modify it, make it a bit more British looking and I'm thinking of turning it into a little electric NCB loco.

Cute! I do like a bargain - I am sure that you will do wonders with it.

Not my usual fare, and I've only ever been sarf of the river on a city tour bus, but it's a nice train and what seemed very good value.

Rails and Royal Mail did a terrific job of getting it packed, shipped and delivered across the globe in 10days for 13 pounds.

Just picked up a Taylor flask wagon kit from a local club stand...seemed a bargain at a fiver....any hints or tips to be aware of ? As my first n guage kit.

I guess it will need a little bit of weight and benefit from metal wheels....not too phased on the potential build ,having cut my teeth on 00 Guage MTK kits with a reasonable amount of success.......ie none of them ended in the bin and did look good.

You can put weight in the space the flask would sit. If you use lead shot DON'T use PVA to secure it - the two react over time and expand leading to damaged models.

The kits I built around twenty years ago came with metal tyred wheels so suspect yours will too.

The main parts are resin which sticks really well with superglue. Be careful not to breath in any resin dust.

Many thanks for the pva/lead shot advice re the resin, as I have used the mix on Dapol presflows..but there I was dealing with a plastic kit.

PVA will react with lead regardless of what it's in. If there's rooms for expansion you should be OK. If not, expect the model to burst at the seams...
