(Now to think of how it could appear in Oxfordshire from Eastleigh........ :hmmm: ;))

How about this, Mick:

32636 was withdrawn at the end of 1963.  In early 1964, she went to the Bluebell Railway where we know her as 'Fenchurch'.  In her late BR days, she was famous as the oldest locomotive in service.

If your layout is set before the end of 1963, she might well be in Oxon for a BR open day or similar.

Lovely engine.  That livery rather suits her.

Best wishes.

John

The layout is set firmly in the transition era so late steam/early diesel so an 'Open Day' could be a plan. TBH I do prefer either of the Era 2 liveries seen on this page........
https://railsofsheffield.com/manufacturer-dapol-JJJM75?Personalise=false&searchTerm=&Category=Steam+Locos%2FEngines&Gauge=N+Gauge&SortMethod=ProductCodeAscending&PageSize=24&page=3

but that would make it a real oddball amongst my other stuff.
Thanks for the help, John

Have you (very) lightly oiled the gears and connecting rod as per the instructions?

Yes, I’ve done the oiling 😀 I have a whole litter of Terriers and a few other Dapol locos so I know the drill.

Well seeing as @Newportnobby has set a trend with cute locos, here is the latest (and maybe last) result of my loft / Gumtree / Boot sale windfall...

The 03 (described by Mrs Skyline as “sweet”) was a bit of a result from eBay. It’s clearly never been out of its box but runs very sweetly. The shunters truck is from TMC (also a bit of a bargain at a moment).

@Railwaygun thank you for trying, I have long since given up with photos taken with iPhone.

As with some many things “computer” related, it’s needlessly complicated and shouldn’t be so annoying!

I thought you would have done, Veronica. Just checking as you know what we blokes are like when it comes to reading manuals etc :-[

Seeing as I see this one most days trundling past my window, I thought it rude not to buy it.  :D

Just running in, but very quiet and smooth.

Getting back into N gauge after a long absence so thought it was time I updated my Jinty to the latest model and got myself the Duchess of Hamilton and a rake of pullman's as well.

Time to crack on with the layout.

Hi Melchi and welcome to the forum. The 'Duchess' is a beautiful engine and I have both the maroon and green versions. The maroon version is part of the story involving my layout 'Averingcliffe'.

Awww, I think it looks nice.  :P. Still looking for a streamlined version in 'n' though.
