Unhappy/frustrated?
I need a Phoenix 14ml tin of paint but alas no one within a hundred miles stock Phoenix so order from them direct it is.
£4.75 for the tin but the cheapest p&p option is £5.50 so over a tenner for 14ml of paint  :(

thebrighton

Managed to find it in stock elsewhere with p&p a couple of quid less. To think 5-10 years ago I had a choice of 2 stockists within a 5 mile drive  :(

Last Thursday I rang the EE tech dept to report a fault with my landline. After much to and fro I ended up speaking to a lass who was just going by a book i.e. customer says "xxx", therefore you reply "yyy". After 90 minutes or so she lamely ended up with "Everything is as it should be. It's your handset. Get another one"

Today I rang again and spoke to another lady (Jackie) who was help personified. We went through everything again and finally she agreed there is a fault, will get an engineer out Thursday this week and apologised for the fault not being spotted before. Lovely lady.

I'm starting to wonder why, in this day and age, I actually need a landline. Let's face it, the vast percentage of mobile users have plans in place for unlimited calls & texts. It's really only there for the tight wads who get charged for calling a mobile number from their landline. They are usually older than me (yes, such people do exist :P ). I reckon I'll just knock it on the head and save myself £11 a month which, as we all know, is one loco per year. :)

When we moved house a few years ago, we just got broadband in the new house, and didn't bother with the land line, which wouldn't actually have been a landline anyway. Not had any problems with officialdom insisting on a landline yet.

We still need a landline for one simple reason - our mobile signal is just awful. We are right on the north edge of Haywards Heath and our nearest mast is to the south so if we want to talk on a mobile our only option is our front bedroom.

And yes, Mick, I am older than you!

Cheers,

Chris

Funny, you wouldn't think that'd still be an issue in a town the size of Haywards Heath.
When we moved up here we had to switch mobile providers as the mobile signal on the network we were using at the time was rubbish. Some networks are definitely better than others in some areas.

Then our broadband provider started offering wifi-calling (your mobile signal goes through your broadband) which is even better; might be worth seeing if you can make use of that.

If the landline is integral to your package and you had been with the Bearded Idiot's lot, they would not let you get rid of the damn thing. I ended up going to BT. A couple of years later, the Bearded Idiot's crew did a deal with O2, with whom we had mobiles, and lo, we returned to them (the TV box is so much better than BT), and didn't need a landline. Weird.

Just tried to get tickets to see Sarah Millican in Denver in October and it's sold out  :o
The cheapest tickets on the re-sale sites are $350 and up !!!!!

She has gigs all over the US and tickets are still available everywhere else from as low as $30.

What is going on?

Are there a lot of Geordies in Colorado that I've not met, or is it something more sinister?

Can @Bealman  offer an explanation?

Regards,

John P

Not really, as I don't even know who Sarah Millican is!

Shame on you! She's one of the best comediennes* to come out of the NE. There are loads of YouTube clips but they'll all have swearing in them so I'll not post any.

The Q

A few years ago we wanted some tickets and the only available were from the resellers site.. a little research showed the reseller had the same parent  company as the original ticket seller..,

Mobiles only work here standing upstairs in the bathroom window.
They don't always work at the sailing club https://www.horning-sailing.club/ unless you stand on the foot bridge to the island. And definitely not at the radar museum on my side. https://www.radarmuseum.co.uk/

You have a radar museum on your side?? :o
