Not someone that I have heard of before Martin @port perran but very pleasant indeed.

Just checked out @madchadbrad 's post modern jukebox and I can see the appeal! How about this (hallowed turf of course)...

That's the first time that I've knowingly listened to Post Modern Jukebox.
I've no idea if that is typical of the genre but worth further investigation.
Very listenable.
Thanks @madchadbrad and @Moonglum

Sorry for late reply, but glad you folks like Leonid and Friends. I've been listening to them for several years and really appreciate them trying to stay true to the original vice adding their own flair (at least on the studio videos).

Oh yeah, Ides of March actual commented on this one.

Damn - they're good, and I really like a lot of the tracks they select to cover

Attention Pink Floyd fans @Trainfish , "Wish You Were Here" was released just over 50 years ago and a new box set is on it's way (no surprise there!). Included is "Shine on You Crazy Diamond Parts 1-9" remixed by James Guthrie and for the first time as a complete piece at 25m 26s long. As with "Animals 2018", the remix sounds very good through my cheapo Sony headphones. Judge for yourself...

Alan Parsons "Darkside of the Moon" declined to be the recording engineer and Brian Humphries was drafted in. I always felt WYWH was a bit of a disappointment after DSOM, but it's still a very good album...

As you are probably aware, there has always been a lot of comparisons between the 2 albums. WYWH slightly edges it for me and is my favourite Floyd album. Whether Dark Side is second or not I'm unsure but Great Gig in the Sky is an absolute standout track for me on there followed closely by Us and Them and Brain Damage. Of course Crazy Diamond and WYWH are 3 standouts on the later album.

Having seen Aussie Floyd a few times and yes, I know they're a tribute band, I'm really looking forward to visiting Bath next Wednesday. If any tribute band can sell out at £50 a ticket and are also asked to perform at David Gilmour's 50th birthday party then they must be good eh?

Thanks John @Trainfish , I think that there always has been split opinions over which is the best album DOTM or WYWH. However, it does say something that "we" are still listening to and enjoying both albums some 50 years later.

There seems to be an abundance of tribute bands around. I would guess that nearly half of the live acts at our local venues are so. I am not sure that this is a good thing or not. Some tribute bands such as Leonid and Friends are without doubt very talented and cover many bands and styles.

Let us know how you get on next week.

The Band's 'Last Waltz'. What a farewell!!
You could tell from Robbie Robertson's eyes he was pretty high but he played some of the most tasty guitar licks - witness..............

Fabulous Mick. I know Joni was guesting here but "Coyote" was taken from "Hejira" which for me is her best album. The song is about a flirtation she had...

As some will know, I'm not, and never was, a huge fan of Pink Floyd (sorry @Trainfish ) but nevertheless I've had a listen to DSOTM and WYWH this afternoon.

It's probably the first time that I've listened to both albums in full since the 70s.

For me WYWH is by far the better offering.

I bought DSOTM when it first came out with all the hype all those years ago and sold it about a week later. It was the only PF album I ever owned although I borrowed quite a few back in the day and actually quite like Atom Heart Mother.

I can fully appreciate the superb musicianship and influence of PF but they just don't do it for me I'm afraid.
