Like 'Man', Nazareth were one of the hard working bands of the early 70s. Here's a version of 'Morning Dew', mostly known for the version with Jeff Beck and Rod Stewart on vocals (I have both versions on 45 )

Roxy Music has the distinction of being the very first band I saw live, closely followed by Alice Cooper. 30 June 1972, Empire Pool Wembley. Alice Cooper was quite an induction into live rock music, a snake, a baby doll and the gallows! My father was furious when he found out that was who I had seen* and said that AC would be forgotten about within a year, he was not often wrong but in this case he clearly was!


* I think the BBC banned the single and my father saw AC as a bad influence.

I never got into Nazareth, don't know why?

I never got into Alice Cooper or Nazareth but I did quite like School's Out as a single and a so g Nazareth did about someone not liking a dog or somesuch 

Just for the record, The Edgar Broughton Band were the first live act that I saw in, probably, 1969 :

I was taken, aged about 8 I think, to see this lot :

I was about 6yo when FatDs released that single, bit addictive - I used to sing along to it whenever it was played on the radio - sounds like you saw them under duress Martin. I wouldn't really have been quite ready for Edgar Broughton at the time (1969) but now of course it's far superior (not pop though). Mrs Moonglum and I saw Edgar Broughton Band live at The Roundhouse, Camden on 9 November 1975 supporting Jean-Luc Ponty - slight contrast!
