Early flight this morning and back in Adelaide til the weekend.

Quick visit to see new granddaughter - looks lovely, I guess, but is actually very cold!

The Arch of Remembrance is a splendid structure.

I was also impressed by the KEEP LEFT road sign. Like something from 1930s-1950s Britain.

I hope you have a wonderful time in SA.

The Table-Top Railway is an attempt to create, in British 'N' gauge,  a 'semi-scenic' railway in the old-fashioned style, reminiscent of the layouts of the 1930s to the 1950s.

Back to Chez Bealman, good flight, but breakfast at Adelaide airport was a bit pricey...

But it was at the Coopers Alehouse, South Australia's magnificent product and a very acceptable breakfast. ;)

On my recent Scottish road trip I paid 13 Aus $ for a very indifferent pint of Deuchars IPA :o

Eek (even though I don't know what that is)

Just looking through some old stuff and found a different bus stop, in Japan in 2018. And yes, that's Mrs B and Bealette in the Japanese clothes.

Those outfits were not tourist stuff. Bealette worked there for eighteen months and taught English to a lovely lady who insisted we did all this. The outfit Mrs Bealman wore was the original lady's 21st outfit!

Mrs B didn't want to go out into the streets!

They look very smart, I'm impressed. The outfit suits Bealette particularly well!

But why is Mrs B holding what appears to be a harmonica??

Cheers,

Chris

George,

glad you confirmed as indeed that was my automatic thought. Fans being somewhat of a necessity here during this time of year... although hand held electric is more often seen day to day rather than the traditional types.

This year has been particularly hot. And last week when I was in Kobe during a road trip taking youngest brother and his family around things got a bit excessive:

It's interesting because as we walked past that bus stop there were people sitting there who had smiles on their faces as they watched these western women walk past in that gear. Until our gracious host told them off in no uncertain terms!

She was a lovely lady who treated us to a full banquet at a local restaurant that evening. A shame I was unable to eat half of the things that were served  :-[
