The Band's 'Last Waltz'. I think it's fair to say some substances had been indulged in, going by the eyes of folk like Robbie Robertson (hugely underrated guitarist IMHO) and Neil Young ;)

Talking of substance indulgence,  I think Iron Butterfly were prone to a bit of it.
It's said, and I know not whether it's true, that the title of their best known track In a Gadda da Vida was meant to be In the Garden of Eden but Doug Ingle couldn't quite get the words out.
Anyway, here is said offering :
I'm sure I'll get used to cream first soon.

A bit of 'Yes' My 2 CD set hasn't got this extended intro.
Much though I like the album the first disc with tracks 1 & 2 gets played the most
The rest can be a bit of a racket if you're not in the mood for it

Moonglum

I am afraid that Yes's TFTO never really gelled with me Mick @Newportnobby . The follow up "Relayer" was much more focussed and very different but not on par with earlier works, after that I lost interest until "90125" and then lost interest again...

Martin @port perran , that's the first time I have heard Iron Butterfly's "In A Gadda Da Vida", I like it.

Have you heard this...

The Band Geeks are a sort of tribute band and Jon seems to like them and adopted them!

Thanks Tim @Moonglum.
I've never heard of Geeks before but that's a very good rendition of one of my favourite Yes songs even if I now find Jon Anderson's voice a tad irritating.

I bought TFTO back in the day but never really got into it @Newportnobby although I quite like Nous Sommes de Soleil.
I rather lost interest in Yes after that. I still think that Time and a Word, Yes Album and Fragile were their best albums with Close to the Edge ok in parts.

Glad you liked Iron Butterfly @Moonglum although  maybe it's an acquired taste

I'm sure I'll get used to cream first soon.

Here's a band that I found interesting in the 90s.
If you like a strong baseline this might be for you although sound quality on the live video isn't brilliant.

I'm sure I'll get used to cream first soon.

Moonglum

Thanks Martin @port perran , here are The Band Geeks before Jon adopted them, good or what...

Love the singer Ann Marie.

Martin beat me to it.
@Moonglum Wow, Tim. When I first heard 'Yessongs' I just dismissed the band as an awful live act, but The Band Geeks blow them away. Super stuff, especially 'Roundabout' :claphappy:

Quote from: Moonglum on July 09, 2025, 08:51:24 PMAfter Black Sabbath here is something a bit smoother. This band have been around for a while and were on the GRP label @kusojiji , I have quite a few of their releases but haven't listened to them for a while...

The title track from their third album Natural Elements is also the theme tune to BBC TV's Gardener's World.

Tim

Awesome! Thanks! Yeah, love them. And that bass rift.

I have Sounds from St. Lucia DVD and had a laserdisc of mixed artists with them on it. I don't remember the name of the disc, though.

The prize IF there was one goes ri Moonglum for naming one of Rumers songs if they had spelt her name right there would be 2 runners up .
Well done Tim . :claphappy:

Moonglum

Thanks Bob, that is BTW my favourite song of hers!

Newportnobby

Some more 'recent' (1994) Yes
I really do commend this to the House as there's some great stuff on it
(Just put it on and give the album a try)
