Quote from: Bealman on May 29, 2025, 11:13:11 PMHaving completely destroyed a tyre last week on a nine inch high kerb, that's not funny, John   :beers:

How did you manage that?? Nine inches high is nearly a wall.

 ???

Cheers,

Chris

Bealman

No, Chris, I can assure you that's how high they are. Me tyre just went Bang, totalled.

I'll take a picture of it (the kerb) tomorrow.

Oh, to answer Chris: I was in a hurry for a VB after me hernia op.  ;D

You're supposed to flush your system out BEFORE the op, not after.

Ha ha, wasn't sure wot you were on about at first. Weirdly enough that real estate agent whose name is on her bum - I used to teach him.

Train Waiting

I'm aware the Bealfamily enjoy holidaying in Tasmania. However, it looks like their tranquillity might be shattered as Spirit of Tasmania IV is alongside at my local boat stop, in Leith, waiting for the Trains Waiting to embark for the SuperShort crossing from the Firth of Forth to the Bass Straight.

See you there, George - please get the VBs in!

With all good wishes.

The Table-Top Railway is an attempt to create, in British 'N' gauge,  a 'semi-scenic' railway in the old-fashioned style, reminiscent of the layouts of the 1930s to the 1950s.

@Train Waiting Hmmm. It might be quite a wait until boarding time because the infrastructure required down in Devonport is due for completion in 2027. Apparently number V will be done by then as well. You can take your pick of the boats, but model numbers A380 and B787 are likely to be a somewhat quicker method of getting a VB downunder!

Anyway, nice try. (Initially I thought you were fair dinkum, so I made the necessary interweb inquiries)   :D

Yes, I noticed in the paper the other day that it was in Scotland. Never been on the boat to Tassie, though I know a few who have. Always seemed a bit silly to me driving your own car all the way to Melbourne, putting it on a boat, then driving it around Tasmania just to have to do it all again in reverse.

Much easier to get on a plane for a couple of hours. Driving to Sydney airport is bad enough! ;)

Why would you come back in reverse?  :hmmm:

Actually the last time I had a rental car in Tasmania for ten days, I drove around the island and wondered what to do for the other 9 days  :D

What is your best total time between Queenstown and New Norfolk? What were your split times to and from Derwent Bridge?  ;D
