@Moonglum Thanks for that, Tim. Unmistakeably Sandy Denny but she seemed short of breath to me as a result of her lifestyle. I love that song but that version did not meet my expectations being, as it was, more than a little 'countrified' :unimpressed:
I do like the idea of the 'Island Folk' album, though

Getting away from all the politics on TV I seem to have ended up with an evening of early Uriah Heep with David Byron on vocals, Mick Box on guitar and Ken Hensley on keyboards. I seem to recall the bassist was Paul Newton, while their drummers came and went. I happen to enjoy their mini operas such as this one from the album 'Demons & Wizards'

Sorry to have mentioned the 'P' word :-[

I always thought that the bass player was Trevor Bolder from Bowie's Spiders from Mars.
Vision over visibility. Bono, U2.

Mick @Newportnobby , Lee Kerslake was the drummer on "Demons and Wizards", with either Gary Thain and Mark Clarke on Bass. George @Bealman , both Trevor Boulder (1977 - 2013) and John Wetton (1975 - 1976) placed bass in later incarnations of the band.

Cheers,

Tim

Note please I did say 'early' Heep i.e. 'Very 'eavy', 'Salisbury' etc
I know Gary Thain was bassist on 'Demons' but only cited that as it was playing at the time of writing. Thanks go to Tim for clarifying the bassist history

Let me clarify at this point....

I don't think I've listened to them in my life!!  ;D  ;D  :-[

The only reason I knew that was I read Woody Woodmansey's autobiography and he said so.  :P

Moonglum

You are indeed correct Mick @Newportnobby , Paul Newton appeared on the first three albums!

There is a serious gap in your musical education :telloff:

Trainfish

No gaps in mine. Didn't you know that these are all the band members from over the years?  :D

Gawd, I can't understand that!

Though I can see Bolder was there until he carked it.

Interesting to spot on John's @Trainfish "timeline" that Nigel Olsson spent a spell in the band before he joined Elton John (never mind...).

Well, it's day three of Glastonbury and to be honest skimming through BBC iPlayer, I have yet to find anything inspirational to watch and listen to. Coldplay so boring... Jessie Ware not bad... Dua Lipa very polished but 15 minutes was enough... loads of acts I cannot be bothered with or heard of... Perhaps it's not aimed at people like me anymore. So how about a bit of this to make up for things...

@Trainfish might like this whilst cutting his new grass.

Cheers,

Tim

Fun fact: Guy Pratt's (on bass) late father was Randell in the TV series "Randell and Hopkirk".

Thanks tim
Nice little tune to end the weekend with and nothing worth listening to at Glastonbury

I have not heard that version before but this one from Pink Floyd's "Pulse" is often considered the best version, discuss...

I couldn't agree more as stated on my layout thread, nothing at Glastonbury (Pilton) for me.
Comfortably numb is the perfect background music whilst laying and smoking cutting grass. There are so many different versions of it out there that it's almost impossible to choose the best one. I end up singing along to every one of them of course. I have several versions saved on my Sky Q box which is where I usually have my video soundtracks coming from  :headbang:
