I see on their website after listing their new 8F as due for arrival in August has now been pushed back to October.

Just as we thought our years of waiting was over they pulled the rug.

That's surprising. I checked with my local model shop only this week and he called Bachmann who told him they were still on for the end of August. I would hope they know what inventory is in each container, but maybe they have just opened it to find they are not there!

Hope it's not one of the many the fall overboard each year from the overloaded container ships they use.

Perhaps they are trying to bump the collectors club model sales or membership  8) some will pay anything to be first with a new model  ;)

Has anyone heard any more about this? I've not seen any delays mentioned anywhere else (or seen it mentioned in different retailers) and it was listed as August in Bachmann's own presentation a couple of days ago.

October would be odd if the consignment was lost as that's not enough time to allocate factory slots and re-produce a model, QC it, ship it and distribute, assuming they found out immediately. Even air freighting that would be tight...

The other option would be the shipment never made the shipping container for some reason? A late found QC issue?

The official line from Bachmann seems to have the Collectors Club version due this month and the rest 'within 3 months'. That doesn't suggest a QC issue.
My wallet is breathing a little easier as, let's face it, it's rare to be presented with a loco you want with delivery being in 3 weeks time (class 17) from announcement.

Interesting, but surprising. Did you get an email from the Collectors' club about that? I also note that the next batch of 4f and N classes has gone from November to 'awaiting'. Hmmm.

After some deliberation I bought an older-style Farish 8F on eBay during lockdown. I think I made the right decision as it's an excellent runner. I'll certainly purchase one of the new versions at some point.
