We'll give the Jairmans a good thrashing, It'll be an ideal warmup for the game against Gibraltar.

Do you think that Scotland will be entering the World Cup at some point in the future? It seems such a long time since they did.  :P

As to whether Scotland enter the World Cup, I guess it depends upon their group opponents. I personally cannot see it happening unless a good crop of young players come through.

I'm not sure why Scotland don't cut it at the top level. They've got established leagues and I would imagine a far higher number of local players in their leagues than "Engerrrland". Perhaps it's something to do with there only ever being two dominant teams, I don't know. Then again, that could be said about Spain.

So, now that the WC is over - can we start a Premiership thread Mods?

Are there many n gauge layouts in the Premiership?

cheers John.

DesertHound

About as many as there are in the World Cup John  :claphappy:

Fair enough - I guess it is an n gauge forum after all. Just that it was fun to have somewhere to discuss something else with the chaps. Guess we've got to remain focused, otherwise we could have a forum for just about anything ... tiddlywinks anyone?

A league 1 forum would be better as far as I'm concerned. I think that would be the issue with a football section, 92+ teams to accommodate (plus Scotland I suppose) and their followers on here. Saying that I bet some of the players out of all those clubs have a layout in the loft  :uneasy:

Not likely mate  :worried:

Scottish league football is a joke, ridiculous small leagues and spineless leadership.  Please don't get me started as I could bang on about what is wrong with the game here for days  :scowl:

I suppose I can hold on to the fact that after England won in '66 Scotland beat them in their first competitive game in '67  :D

Trainfish

It's not ALL bad, you've actually beaten England 4 times since 1966. England have won 15 times I think, I lost count  :D

You get another chance in November too.

With a little imagination there could be a layout for each club...

- Finsbury Park depot with a healthy allocation of A1Pacifics or even new Farish Deltics: Arsenal
:A1Tornado:

- West Brompton Station on the West London Line, a perfect location for cross regional freights and also the new London Overground: Chelsea
:NGFWagonTour:

- Selhurst depot, a perfect location for the forum's Network SouthEast fans to model: Crystal Palace
:Class414:

- The Hawthorns Station which combines both main line trains as well as trams: West Brom
:Class89:

- A layout based on the Canada Dock Branch in Liverpool including Walton and Anfield Station: covers both Liverpool and Everton!!!
:Carriage:

I am sure there could be a similar layout idea for every premier league club... I for one would hate to paint and affix several thousand spectators into a scale model of the applicable stadium though :headbutt:. Although I seem to remember a thread on the forum where someone wanted to do this!

Also a layout based on Northam with it's mixture of the SWT traincare depot, freight trains to the docks, Voyagers and the usual SWT/FGW/Southern trains - and, of course, Saint Mary's stadium right by the tracks :)

I think the fairest way is for me to delete the lot and lock the thread, problem solved and no more boring football on here.   ::)   ;)
