I don't let the twins watch too much telly, but both of these are of course allowed. But which is best? Probably a bit of a no brainer, I suppose.

Cheers

I have to admit I do like Chuggington over Thomas  :-[

cheers John.

The worst thing about Thomas was Ringo Starr's narration. He was reading from the script and it sounded like it.

No one asked for your criticism of Mr Starr, the question was which is best.

Any more of this behavior George and I will have to report you to the boss  >:D   :smiley-laughing: :smiley-laughing: :smiley-laughing:

I love Thomas the tank with Ringo Starr, Chuggington never heard of it.

I wondered how long it would take?
Actually I expected the mod police to place it somewhere else.

Not many votes yet. The twins are beginning to get restless.

I used to love Thomas as a kid, but I don't like the new series so much.

Thomas has to be the books though

Yup the books are pretty scary.  You're drawn into the belief that engines are people, they have happy smiley faces and talk. Then in a later book, there's a terrifying picture of an engine about to be cut up with a gas axe as the other railway decommissions all its steam engines.

And if mechanical genocide isn't enough, there's also the story of the old narrow gauge engine that was forgotten about for half a century and left buried in a shed. Don't read that one to the kids when grandma is around.

It has to be taken into account that all of these later characters were not around in the original books by Rev. Awdrey. Those books contained some amazing art.

I tried to salvage my originals, but, over the years, a combination of time and the fact I live on the other side of the planet has defeated me in that regard.

Thomas and Ringo do it for me. The 'new' Thomas series is rubbish in comparison.
Chuggington is just cartoon rubbish as far as I can see

Chuggington is a no-brained pastiche of Thomas the tank engine. 1980s (Ringo Starr era) Thomas is clearly the best as the railway has a clearly defined, purposeful infrastructure and its not all about being nice and the 'try to be a good friend' type B-S children have been spoonfed since the 90s.
