Ha! Literally a mirror! Like a rear-view-mirror.

:dunce: I thought it was referring to something else.
Yes a rear view mirror.

unless you knock one off, like I did whilst running in this evening at the club. Luckily one of the other club members had his repair kit with him, soon fixed.

Yeah - it's a nice detail but probably the first piece to disappear, especially if you're ham handed (like wot I am). Not that I'd ever own such a model

Hopefully this will show the mirrors slightly better.

I like the detail of the mirrors, although I did have one still in the box after taking the 66 out of the box.

I think they have done a stonking job.

Thanks Graham! Yes, that helps a lot. I think in the images that had me concerned, the mirrors are indeed a bit squashed - maybe they fold in when parked, like on my car!  :D  Your pics reassure me that even if I find them squashed on my purchase it shouldn't be a big deal to fix.

I have a bespoke 66846 Colas Diamond livery, and agree that RR are doing a great job of these.

I note as well that all seven Maritime are in stock again.  :claphappy:

I think if anymore turn up I could be in real trouble.
Up to 11 now with Portillo special from Rails on order.

Rather useful when overtaking slow local stoppers ... or watching out for the blues and twos of cop-trains behind when speeding...

Kris

These 2 turned up today. One is powered and one is a dummy. I have ordered the bits required to convert the dummy to a powered model and have also ordered replacement exhaust's and buffers.

New or Second hand? Who is the manufacturer? They look in excellent condition.

These are second hand. The motorised one is the newer next 18 version. The dummy one is older, about 12 years I think and has a 6 pin socket. They are made by Dapol. There are a couple of faults, but I was aware of these when I purchased them, and replacement bits are on their way to me.

I've been after a newer tooling centre-headcode 40 in BR blue for a while, and always seemed to miss them on evilbay or in secondhand sellers (I missed one at Footplate by 15 minutes).
A chum was looking to offload his so I jumped at it. 40192 joins the fleet....

Rapido Trains Dynamometer Car, Mallard record run version, a truly stunning model, incredibly well detailed inside and out and interior lighting that can be switched on and off using the "wand" supplied.

People have said it is "too expensive for a coach" but not in my opinion, and anyway it is somewhat more than just a coach, it is a unique and iconic piece of RTR rolling stock and so priced where it ought to be for a model made to such standards.

I jumped at the opportunity to buy one on the basis that there can be no guarantee there will ever be a second production run.

That certainly looks like a superb model.
Being an LNER model it doesn't really fit in with my period but I might consider one as it looks so good.
