If you know someone who's depressed, please resolve never to ask them why. Depression isn't a straightforward response to a bad situation; depression just is, like the weather.Try to understand the blackness, lethargy, hopelessness, and loneliness they're going through. Be there for them when they come through the other side. It's hard to be a friend to someone who's depressed, but it is one of the kindest, noblest, and best things you will ever do."

Very happy with the new 31 livery's. 31423 in IC Mainline for me, saves me a respray now :D 407 is also nice, may just be able to fit that in, being repainted circa 1995... As for coal sector, already repainted a couple of those...

20064 is nice in green, but it's a shame they can't release a twin pack with 030, but to have 030 a retool would be required as it had larger cab side windows.

Just one word, disappointing...

Not a single transition model, in fact as far as steam goes, the only loco due to arrive reasonably soon is the 4F, with J39 and 5MT moved to mid-2023 and no dates yet for the Fairburn Tanks.

I think we had all hoped for (and possibly even expected) some coaches in the more common liveries, but no, not a bit of it, in fact nothing new rolling stock wise at all.

With re-runs of steam locos in OO (some with a sound upgrade) Thompsons in maroon and a new-tool loco in OO9 I think it feels safe to conclude that N is third priority for Bachmann Europe now, behind OO and OO9, I really can't read things any other way.

I have looked back my email trail, and I find that it was August 2021 that I wrote to Bachman (Richard Proudman), with regard to the lack of coaching stock in N gauge, particularly MK1 and MK2 stock. I also questioned Bachman's commitment to N Gauge in general.  I Was assured that Bachman were taking N gauge seriously and was assured there was significant investment being made.  It appears, now, that he was referring to the Class 90.  Whilst this was a very welcome and significant project for the era that it fits, I fail to see the point in investing all that money whilst providing nothing for other locomotives to pull.

I admit, I don't get it.

Say what you will about Dapol, but they do regular runs of coaching stock. It's just a shame it's not Maroon Mk1s - How long since the last run? at least 5 years?

If I was starting out in modelling railways today, particularly in the green diesel era, I wouldn't entertain N gauge (why would I, when all I can buy are sectorisation and post-privatisation locomotives?), and I'm carefully considering whether I continue with the gauge at all now - at the very least I need to downsize my modelling ambitions in respect of future projects.

Northern Belle BG is announced in N as a Collectors Club exclusive. The only piece of hauled N stock.

Thank goodness these manufacturers are trying hard to relieve me of my savings and supporting the Steam and Transition eras:

Dapol (GWR Mogul, SR BB/WC, new run of Class 33s)

Rapido (Classes 28 + Conflat P, Classes 44, 45 and 46, SECR designed wagons)

Revolution (Class 120 and 128 Transition era DMUs, LT Underground trains, K Type Pullmans, Class A and B tanks)

Sonic (GWR 5101 Large Prairie, LNER J50).

Union Mills (can we have a new Southern 4-4-0 please)

I only need Farish as a source of chassis now, for my U-boats (U and U1 2-6-0s (Thanks @Highland Handlebar))

Cheers
Bob

I can explain it to you...

...but I can't understand it for you.

Must do better, Farish. 1 out of 10 for effort. 0 out of 10 for listening to what people want :unimpressed:

joe cassidy

Maybe Farish are scared to announce the latest prices of their coaches ?

Bob G

Perhaps Farish are simply responding to the age-old gripe that all you see on model railway layouts are Mark 1 coaches!!!!!
Or perhaps Farish believe Dapol are flooding the coach market (not with high-window Maunsells, they are not!)

bluedepot

really odd again with no rolling stock

anyway i am happy to buy a 31/4

One of those Intercity Mainline 31s will certainly find its way into the stock box!

£180 for a DCC ready Goyle means my wallet will remain untroubled, sadly.
