I used to go out with a lass who worked in a petrol station but she dumped me. I still can't drive past without filling up :'(

(Can't claim originality - it was on Chris Evans this morning)

Hi there Pete Mc!
Yes I am indeed aware of those two gentlemen. I was a member of a local N Gauge club here in Wollongong during the '90s (drifted away in the noughties - once again sorta related to my marital issues at the time - my heart just wasn't in the hobby then), and a couple of the blokes were bikeheads as well as being trainheads. The discussion would often make me wonder if I was attending the wrong club meeting!
Corser and Bayliss have often been big news in our local paper (called the Illawarra Mercury - check out the website if you wanna get a feel for my neck of the woods!).
Hows old Doncaster doing? It'd wanna be a bit different to how I remember it
Cheers bealman

When were you last here?
As we all know, things do change, some for the better, others unfortunately not.
I've lived here since being born in 1969,never moved away or even considered it either.
I'll have a look at the website sometime over the weekend.
As a fan of bike racing and a biker myself,I have had the pleasure of meeting both Troy Bayliss and Troy Corser at national and world championship rounds in the uk(Donington,Brands Hatch and Silverstone) and found Troy Bayliss to be a truly stereotypical Aussie,as in very, very laid back. This was the year he won the British Superbike Chapionship the year before he went on to replace King Carl 'Foggy' Fogarty in the factory Ducati team.I had a brief, very brief chat with Corser at Brands a few years earlier when his Old Spice Ducati went bang during practise at Dingle Dell.He wasn't as affable though. Can't work out why.

Yeah. He wouldn't have been. I don't think it was personal though.

Currently halting my progress is a foot-high Lego R2D2.  The instructions come in 3 books!  Could take all weekend.

I'm a personality prototype... you can tell, can't you.

Trainfish

I've got loads of excuses (reasons) why nothing's happening to my layout at the moment.

1. Too much OO stuff still to get rid of.
2. Still no finescale track bought, just points, crossings etc
3. Broken ribs/ligaments (Had X-ray this morning to find out as has been 6 painful weeks now)
4. Too warm in the loft even when it's raining
5. Spend too much time on various forums (or is it forae?) answering posts asking why I'm not doing anything to the layout...............

Come the Jubilee weekend I thought "Aha, time to build those baseboards!" 4 days should have been loads of time, right? Except of course it rained. Not to be beaten, I bought a cheap gazebo to erect over my work area...so the wind kicked off as well. So right now I have almost three boards completed, at least one almost with legs, too much rain and too much wind!

Malc

Some really excellent videos Chris. I've not been to the North Norfolk, but it's somewhere I want to visit, especially after seeing the videos.
Malc
The years have been good to me, it was the weekends that did the damage.

Chris

Well if you are in the area at any time Malc, let me know and I'm happy to show you around!

I don't put as much time in on the layout because I am always chasing around after my 5 step kids, the youngest is 39 oldest 47 but their Mum still thinks they are kids and need looking after all the time.
