I am assuming that there is collective noun for locomotives, but, if there is, it escapes me. The best I can come up with is a shed.

Any better ideas or suggestions?

For modellers, I guess a debt of locomotives fits the bill.

A 'shed' is too definitive in that a class 66 = a shed.
I always thought the collective nouns for locos was a 'stud' or, at a pinch, a 'stable'

A shed, shedfull, turntable, layout, ogle, eyefull, of locomotives.

Size matters - especially if you don't have a lot of space - and N gauge is the answer!

Maybe it's easier if you consider individual classes of locomotives:

A range of Peaks
A corridor of Halls
A quiver of Javelins
A plague of Rats
A drove of Nodding Donkeys
A dustful of Hoovers
A hug of Teddy Bears (look it up!)
An invasion of Bodysnatchers
A jar of Brushes
A pack of Growlers

I think that is my coat on the hook behind the door... I'd better get it!

A bearing of Westerns?
A King of Castles?
A street party of Jubilees?

A "Cancellation" of Hoovers ....

A "Sweep" of 47's ....

A "Hollywood" of Westerns ( or a True Grit) ...

For me, but there must be more than me out there,

A 'bodge' of ballasters

A 'nightmare' of rail painters

A 'dunce' of wirers

Then.....

A 'hallelujah' of Kato Unitrack.

(although still got to do the first two  :worried:)

Possibly a 'fleet' of locomotives but I reckon NN's 'stable' is the one.

Cheers weave  :beers:

A stash of new locos (as in hidden stash)
or a hoard of new locos (as in secret hoard)

A mess of bits (that might be useful one day)

Working doesn't seem to be the perfect thing for me so I'll continue to play.
