or   "in line with NHS guidelines",if youve been in close contact with someone showing symptoms you get tested too, even though the initial persons test is negative,or do  those guidelines only apply to politicians?

While it may not work at the pre-symptom stage for those that later develop symptoms, children are more likely to be asymptomatic throughout, which makes waiting for symptoms before testing more problematic.

bought a pair of boots off e-bay at the end of may for walking HB.

arrived quickly, and appeared to be of reasonable quality for the price.....

but noticed last week that the stitching between the leather panel around the laces and the fabric panel on the right boot was coming undone, so monday messaged the seller [trading as Dallas-Shoes] with photos of the problem.
wednesday, with no response or even acknowledgement of my message, I sent a further message, with another photo of the now larger fault.
today, with still no response from the seller, I contacted E-bay, but was told it was too long ago for them to get involved  :confused1:
I was however advised to contact my credit card company, the original purchase was during my 3 month row with Paypal over their 'limiting' my account, to claim a refund from them.
seller now advised of this and will be seeing if the credit card scheme is any use.

meantime, ordered another pair, FROM A DIFFERENT SELLER OF COURSE, on wednesday which arrived this morning.
look ok, but no doubt time, and HB walking, will prove if first impressions are right  :hmmm:

Hope you get things sorted to your satisfaction Chris. I have the opposite experience with an ebay seller, but will post under the 'Happy' thread later.

The description was correct, it was just me not looking properly. Anyway, returning them was not an option, as I need the trailer tomorrow, so I've picked up replacement hubs that match the wheels and they are now fitted.

Well we're in isolation (for a few days at least). Our middle son has had a "cold" for a couple of days, but one Saturday/Sunday night was also feeling sick and running a temperature. This morning I booked a COVID-19 test for him and took him in the afternoon. Now we have to wait for the result.

Beautifully timed so as to prevent his older brother taking his mock A-levels starting on Monday - which may be vitally important if exams get cancelled again next Spring :(

On the good side, although we had to drive 45 minutes each way to a drive-through test centre (we could have attended a walk-though much closer to home, but didn't fancy the possibility of standing in line for some time with other people), we were dealt with immediately. There were also others being dealt with when we arrived and when we left, so although there were no queues, it looks like they are getting the appointment system right and it is working well.

A quick update. No news on the test result yet, but all of his year have been sent home today, as another child *has* tested positive and as Liam has been in contact with him, he'll have to stay home for a fortnight, regardless of his own test results. However, if his test is negative, myself, my wife and our other two sons can go out again

Hopefully the result will be a negative Steve. (Where's the 'fingers crossed' thingy?).  :)
