BRM magazine with DVD

I have just downloaded the digital version of BRM magazine which comes with a filmed Bachmann interview. (The paper magazine comes with an optional bonus DVD which costs £1 more) the interview is on the DVD.

I found the interview fascinating and very positive in outlook for N gauge. It also gives an insight into the recent 20% increase and their manufacturing process.

That's the one I got as part of the digital magazine. I think there are a few more features on the actual DVD that comes with the paper magazine.

There are two versions of the paper magazine one with a bonus DVD and one without which I think is a bit silly as it just causes confusion.

As for giving a positive outlook for N Gauge, they are still not doing us any favours with the increase of 20%, they should be inspiring folks to take up the hobby, and keeping the costs down as much as possible, if costs rise again in the same manner then they need to fetch production back to the UK, and keep the money in this country, we all like bang for bucks and it means that some of us cannot buy as much rolling stock as we hoped.

As for giving a positive outlook for N Gauge, they are still not doing us any favours with the increase of 20%, they should be inspiring folks to take up the hobby, and keeping the costs down as much as possible, if costs rise again in the same manner then they need to fetch production back to the UK, and keep the money in this country, we all like bang for bucks and it means that some of us cannot buy aqs much rolling stock as we hoped.

I think you will find that even with a 20% increase it is still cheaper to manufacture in China than in the UK.

Bit more inspiring for the Chinese model railway fans

Kato & Tomix both have really good visitor centres in Japan, I know the argument will be that they have a 4 million N gauge modeller strong market but is that because they have nurtured them and encouraged their interest? What is Bachmanns & also Dapol and Hornby's 10, 20 year plan to increase the number of model railway enthusiasts? Should they all combine forces to create a UK model railway visitor centre?

You are totally bang on, we do not have the inspiration thrown at us enough by manufacturers, if it was not for all the exhibitions that go on there would not be the same interest, and I thank all the folks out there who take there own time to exhibit.

Hello Fred here.I subscribe to BRM Magazine and get it in the post each month.  If I want the (free)dvd I will have to go to W H Smiths and by aneather magazine.  Bit of a ripoff i think.
