Almost looks as though it has a hidden third rail, that would certainly help with reversing loops.   ;)

Marklin is very solid kit.  My father in law sadly dead 12 years in Switzerland had a larger collection on Marklin.  Not the latest kit the rails and actually made of pressed metal but now they are plastic.  He had about 20 loco's and when we go to stay I get it out and have a play

The impressive thing is that despite having been unused for over 12 years it still works straight out of the boxes

It is a three rail system there are pins running along the centre of the track to provide the return current and each loco has a spring loaded shoe on its underside

The electronics side looks interesting
