Wot! not even "Echoes" Martin @port perran .

On a sad note, I learnt today that Dave Cousins of the Strawbs died a few days ago. A band that passed me by apart from the single "Part of the Union". He had a solo career as well.

Here from a more recent album is the Strawbs in a "proggy" mode with Dave on vocals...

RIP Dave.

That is very sad news indeed.
I saw the Strawbs 3 times I think it was and had most of their early albums back in the day.
As is usial for me I preferred their earlier stuff particularly the Just a Collection of Antiques and Curios album. They became a little louder and rockier after that but I quite liked From the Wychwood and Grave New World.
I'm sure I'll get used to cream first soon.

I hadn't heard that. Very sad :(
I feel too much Strawbs and Dave Cousins voice began to grate on me. My favourite tracks are 'The Hangman & the Papist' and 'New World', the former with Rick Wakeman on keyboards and the latter with Blue Weaver

Meanwhile, last track tonight from the 'Moving Waves' album (complete with the obligatory drum solo of the time) is............

Spyro Gyra Bright Lights.

1990 - We took a new set of B&W 604 speakers into the ship and set up a Yamaha 200w amp. In a space about 10 ft wide, we crammed in 4 people and cranked this thing up. The percussion did not interfere with the sax.

It will come as no surprise to you @kusojiji , that I have a couple of their albums!

Tim

That's GRP for you...

Thanks @kusojiji one of my favourites.
I too had a couple of albums back in the day and loved Morning Dance when it came out in around the late 70s.
I'm sure I'll get used to cream first soon.

I'm not sure if this will go down well or not.

A folk rock (well more folk actually and less rock)  band from the early 70s who I saw in, of all places, Warminster in a pub.

If you like something with a storyline, a bit of a moral and a somewhat sad ending whilst also being a bit of a protest song then you might just like this.

It's a band called Heron from their double LP Twice as Nice at Half the Price :
I'm sure I'll get used to cream first soon.

It's not really my cuppa tea I am afraid Martin @port perran . I did think for a minute it was something to do with Mike Heron but clearly not.

Agreed though that SG's "Morning Dance" was an excellent debut, the follow up "Catching the Sun" was good as well but I no longer have it.

I still have the LPs but no player. Got destroyed in my last move and haven't yet replaced it. A buddy had one, so we digitized the records. I used Morning Dance to test a few boom boxes back then before buying.
