I popped along to a local exhibition this afternoon and walked about just over £50 lighter having picked up a GWR MK3 Sleeper and a GWR MK3 TGS. Particularly happy about the TGS as it seems that GWR MK3 day stock is like hens teeth.

Interesting - does the TGS have buffers? It looks like someone's taken the chassis from a loco hauled Mk3 and put in under a HST TGS to create a loco hauled BFO.

The TSG is a standard HST TGS, (I believe it originally came from the guagemaster castle class set) I think what you are seeing is a trick of the light reflecting off the coupling. Looking at the buffers on the sleeper, the easiest way of covering it would be to drill 4 holes and add the buffers separately. I might look into doing this at some point in the future.

Hmmm, well the title doesn't say it has to be N gauge...

So I just sold four N gauge locos surplus to requirements, and I bought three OO ones in exchange. The Hornby "Birth of the Railways" boxed set.

This is a super douper collectors set with Locomotion, Rocket and Lion, and crikey aren't they small. I put a standard OO gauge Bachmann 09 shunter alongside Lion (the largest of the three locos) and a Dapol N gauge Class 73 in front of Locomotion for size. The Era 1 locomotives feel like they are TT models!

Rocket is in fact the smallest, and is DCC6 ready. Locomotion and Lion are Next 18 and even have sugar cube speakers pre-fitted!

I have to say that when Hornby does it well, they do it very well indeed. The pack even comes with three sets of crew.

And thank you TMC for free one day postage and truly careful wrapping.

Well a ban would give me more time modelling...

What about your ASBO for posing nude, though?

Wasn't totally nude. Had a helmet on.
