Hi Mike

Choates is really good.  I spent ages watching it at last year's N Gauge show, though I think it's more "finished" now, judging by the photographs.  It really captures the feel of the Tilbury area well.

Ketton is now retired, indeed I think the scenic sections may have been sold. The fiddle yards and end boards are now being reused on Horseley Fields.

cheers

Ben A.

It is a pity DEMU is UK only...there are some cracking overseas D&E layouts out there.

For UK, there is Cross Street and the still under construction Gresby which would make decent additions...although I'm sure you have already thought of them...

I agree with this - and would recommend your own Yamanouchi Oshika (if non-UK were to be allowed). I have been fortunate enough to see this twice at shows and I never tire of seeing it.
Just one Pendolino, give it to me, a beautiful train, from Italy

Very kind of you to say so.

Its back out to play at this year's club open day - 28th October - before some remedial work on track and electrics for next year's showings...thus far we have the Crawley MRS show and Wycrail lined up for 2013. There never seems to be much call for Japanese layouts!

I could say I hate to be picky, but it can be enjoyable though. Choates Lane is set on the Dagenham exit from the London Tunnel of HS1, which as everyone knows does not go through Tilbury, but through sunny downtown Dagenham (actually near the Ford Motor Works).
Thanks evryone, especially Ben, for letting me sound off about that.

Tim - great, I'll see Choates Lane at Warley :-)

Shaweport, Stoney Lane Depot, Embankment Road, and Acton Mainline have all been already.  Not sure about Drem or Ketton (though I dont think Ketton still goes out).

Banbury and Crossfields are both on my list of layouts I would like to see at Showcase!  Horseley Fields is another I had forgotten and I hope to see soon.

Thanks for all the ideas folks - much appreciated and if any more spring to mind please either let me know on here or drop me a PM or email.

Cheers, Mike

It seems that Drem may be brought out of retirement.
