Excellent @kusojiji , I went through a GRP phase in the 80s and 90s. As you said some class acts inc. Lee Ritenour and Larry Carlton on the label. Trouble was that eventually a lot of the output become a bit predictable and boring. Dave Grusin also has had a fine career in scoring TV and Film music.

Have you heard Special EFX (GRP)...

Wow, nice! Never heard of them. Will have to go looking now. Even at 720p, some of the depth still makes it through.

Newportnobby

It's been mentioned a few times but, for some reason, I find myself playing this at least once a week (could it be the longest earworm??). I probably know each guitar/drum break in its 21 minutes

Newportnobby

Anyone remember this? Beggar's Opera version of the famous Mason Williams 'Classical Gas'
The late, great Johnny Walker used to play it a lot and I just had to go out and buy the single at the time (he used to lop off the piano intro, though)

Moonglum

I don't remember that particular track Mick @Newportnobby but I did have their previous album "Pathfinder" on vinyl , I think their 1970 albums got worse as they went on! That said they were a bit underrated in my view here but quite big in Germany. Some band members went onto bigger things.

Tim

PS you and your "Spunk Rock" (is good though)!

port perran

You can't beat a bit of Man who are one of the few bands from my youth that I still listen to on a regular basis.

Nice track from Beggars Opera too
I'm sure I'll get used to cream first soon.

Moonglum

For me this is Man at their best...

And the choir! Taplow station I think?

I agree, a superb album and yes, Taplow station
I'm sure I'll get used to cream first soon.

I was lucky enough to see Man live just before they retired - was a lot of fun although the end of their set was cancelled due to a lightning strike really close taking all the PA out 8(

The Storm (off Two ounces of plastic with a hole in the middle) remains one of my favourites. If you've ever stood on the Swansea seafront for a storm it's just so perfect.

Kansas Play the Game Tonight. First heard Kansas in '77 when my friend introduced me to the music. Have been in love with them since. I think this was immediately post Steve Walsh.

Hot off the press for Martin @port perran ...

Solstice seem to have a bottomless pit of hot vocalists.
