A pleasant ditty from 50 years ago by Heads, Hands and Feet. I have the studio track on the Island sampler 'El Pea' but this live version from The Beat Club is pretty good

I saw Shade at the Jazz Caffe in Camden about 20 years ago and she was even better live.  There was only about 150 people (capacity) and she came and had a drink at the bar with us after.  A really nice touch.

The Doobs. Quality of this video isn't too good, but I like the intro into this song in this concert.

I have the music DVD of this concert somewhere...

I've always liked the Doobies - mainly their rockier side like the above and this......

kusojiji

Yeah, they went through different phases. A lot of memories with this group.

Now then.......this won't be to everyone's taste but I rather like Cornershop's innovative take on Indian/British Indie style music.

Most folk will remember their catchy hit single Brimful of Asher but this is, perhaps, a bit different.
It's from the excellent album - Handcream for a Generation :
I'm sure I'll get used to cream first soon.

Excellent Mike.
I love the vocals  of Annie Haslam.
I'm sure I'll get used to cream first soon.

Well, H, H & F, The Doobies, Indie, Bagpipes and Renaissance - what a selection. I really liked Renaissance (and various versions and off-shoots) and saw them live a number of times in the 1970s. Annie Haslem's later US based Renaissance isn't quite so good for me I am afraid.

The late Michael Dunsford released a "Renaissance" album in the mid 90s called "The Other Woman" featuring Stephanie Adlington on vocals, here is the title track...

I'm a huge fan of Renaissance, with my most played track being 'Ashes are burning' from the 'Live at Carnegie Hall' double album. Annie Haslam has a great pair of lungs on her

I managed to see Renaissance twice back in the 1980s, at Bournemouth Wintergardens and Poole Arts centre. The other group of that era I would have liked to see was Focus. My main musical interest was and still is Jazz and big bands of the 30's through '50s. I got to see Ellington, Basie, Woody Herman, & the reformed Glen Miller orchestra, George Shearing, Ted Heath, MJQ, Ella Fitzgerald, Acker Bilk, Nat Gonella and some of the "Jazz at the Philharmonic" tours of the late 1950s.
Cheers MIKE
