Yes, she is very good. This track features on one of my Spotify Playlists! A good choice from a bit of a "girl's blouse"! In a similar vein, have you heard this Martin...

That's pretty good and an interesting individual (having just looked her up on Spotify).

Not so sure about the outfit or hair though.
I'm sure I'll get used to cream first soon.

Definitely in a class of her own Martin, her first album "Black Acid Soul" is powerful stuff. This artist and song does it for me...

@Newportnobby will be spitting blood!

Just found this, Crawler evolved from Paul Kossoff's (Free) band "Back Street Crawler" after his death. I had this 1977 self titled album on vinyl and it had it's moments especially on this track...

Geoff Whitehorn on guitar and Rabbit on keyboards.

Elevator muzak. Sorry, it's a 'MISS' from me.

The Crawler one is a 'MAYBE' if we're allowed that (which they weren't in the 60s)

Thank you for those two @Moonglum

I've heard the Kossoff track before - a pretty good offering in my opinion.

And a thumbs up from me for Jessie Ware. Another artist to have a listen to in the train room later.

Cheers
Martin

Back to the 70s

There were a few attempts in the late 60s/1970s to amalgamate progressive rock music with classical orchestras.
Some were better than others but one that I liked was Jon Lord with his Gemini Suite.
Some big names contributed  including the legendary conductor Malcolm Arnold.
I listened to this earlier for the first time in probably 40 years and it still works for me :
See what you think.

Are we talking Jon Lord who founded Deep Purple?

Interesting biography

Impressive work and track if Sir Malcolm Arnold was involved

Thanks Martin nice track for Friday early evening

I used to have the 'Deep Purple ' with the English Philharmonic Orchestra album. Gets a 'HIT' from me, Martin

Moonglum

Hmmm, I am 5 minutes in and whilst I quite like the orchestration it seems at odds with the guitar at times so I am not sure where it is going... whizzing through it it's OK but not really for me but I like from 42m 30s for a while then it gets a bit annoying again... I did have JL's Sarabande on vinyl which was patchy as well.

From the examples I have heard over the years, the marriage between classical orchestration and rock music is not always a happy one. I think it works pretty well here...

I was there (for the record).

Other fine examples are the likes of Barclay James Harvest and Renaissance :hmmm:

Moonglum

Here we are chaps, the best of both worlds. I have been meaning to listen to this band for a while and found this...

Oooh, I like that. The music's not bad, either. ;)
