Following on from the last post, the whole acoustic concert at the Carnegie Hall is worth a viewing if you have some time free:
I'm sure I'll get used to cream first soon.

Martin @port perran , that's drop dead gorgeous! The instrument is an erhu and is a Chinese two-stringed bowed fiddle and is sometimes called a spike fiddle. It is played by Tina Guo - and no I didn't know this off the top of my head just read the comments! She's pretty hot on the cello as well!

Cheers,

Tim

Glad you enjoyed it Tim, it's a super track.
As for Tina Guo, it's worth a listen at about
1-18 on the main concert.
Absolutely stunning work on the cello.
I'm sure I'll get used to cream first soon.

I am surprised she didn't set fire to herself!

I have just read that Marianne Faithfull has passed away. Here is my favourite song of hers...

RIP Marianne

Sorry to hear that news.
That is a great track.

Incredible musicianship between Bonamassa and Guo. No one could call them 'Slowhand'
I was reminded of a story about Sir Henry Wood during an orchestral rehearsal when he turned to a lady cellist and said "Madam, you have between your legs one of the greatest instruments known to mankind, and all you can do is scratch it"
Sorry but my opinion of Marianne Faithfull just leads me to judging her as a 'warbler' with no true voice :(

I tend to agree Mick @Newportnobby but I did like "Broken English". In the meantime, here is some more Tina Guo with the "Main Theme to Wonder Woman", I think there is a place for her in Nightwish...

Cheers.

Ooooh.....a tad too dramatic for me I'm afraid.
I'm sure I'll get used to cream first soon.

Here is one for Martin @port perran . IIRC you said that Frankie Goes to Hollywood (WTTP) was your first CD, here's a reminder from 2004, no Holly Johnson...

Steve Howe makes a guest appearance.

If I am wrong my sincere apologies.

Cheers,

Tim

Well Remembered Tim.

It was my one and only FGTH album but was indeed the very first CD I ever bought.

There were a few albums which, at one time, I had on vinyl, cassette, CD and mini disk all at the same time.

First time I've heard FGTH for absolutely ages.
I'm sure I'll get used to cream first soon.

I used to love Ch4 playing 'Two Tribes' music as backing to their American Football results service. Just so exciting

Edit:- Found a clip (Jeez - was it really 40 years ago?)

@Snowwolflair I wonder whether David thought "Wahey! We're on for some 'Locomotive Breath' from Jethro Tull" :laugh3:
(Opening bars on the keyboards from that concert)
