I have got one of those! Bought by my later father circa 1967 and now sitting on a diorama. Actually, I think for its time it's a pretty good model.

Cheers,

Tim

It's been a long time since I shared a purchase on here, but seeing as I have the photos on my phone here goes.

First from TINGS 24 is RFD 47/0 "Herbert Austin". Not an especially rare loco but one Anoracks was kind enough to reserve for me, ex shop stock, at a good price.

Follow my recent practice, this has rakes already allocated to it. Specifically it will joint my other RFD 47s and 92s on Cargo Wagons, Intermodal and, eventually, automotive duties.

Next is a rare dip into the steam world with a loco I have wanted for a couple of years; Tornado as first painted in Doncaster Green.

Also shown is the coach I found at Anoraks to act as her support coach.

Tornando arrived with me a little poorly with some valve gear detached. Happily I was able to do a repair and she is running well.

I will spend a few months happily building up a rake for her to do rail tours with.

Thanks! .. yes it is Lima and I happen to have a rake of maroon Mk1s which is why I was so keen to get this.  The early blue electric livery with maroon is such a great combination

Hope that the link may provide clues to what maybe wrong. It maybe a noisy runner but I have one too and just couldn't resist !

Mine was a noisy runner, deeply recessed cab windows and the toy like pantograph and roof cabling plus the pancake motor.

I just give it a run now and then

I have D814 "Dragon" in the same livery, they are lovely models (and this from a non-WR modeller!).

Newportnobby

Considering their age they are fine models with running lights and generally smooth runners.
With my layout being loosely based in Oxfordshire it would be rude not to have at least one, so.........

Hello , can you state the model's manufacturer and where you obtained it.

Regards

Foxhound

A bit of Art Deco Diesel delight

Won on that auction site, it's a later model, Farish 371 something. Runs as smoothly as you like.

Yes, I have one I bought from dannyboy of this parish. Beautiful runner. Flywheel, too.
Vision over visibility. Bono, U2.

Foxhound, what a coincidence! I got one from Clark's. In green but looks the same. For a passenger carrying car, I thought it would have a bigger doorway or multiple doors. Runs great.
Cheers! Maurice

They weren't used for high traffic journeys. The number of seats varied from 44 to 70 (104 on the two twin units). In comparison a Mk1 SK has 64 seats. Amazingly some were fitted with a buffet!
