We spend too much time on N Gauge Forum  :D

:NGaugeForum:

True and yet time spent on the forum reading advice from others can save mistakes being made and money being wasted. So it probably evens itself out.
Just one Pendolino, give it to me, a beautiful train, from Italy

Mine is a bit of a sad tale.......

Just before x-mas I split up with my missus of 4 years. As a result I moved out and lost the railway room. My parents were really kind and I'm currently back with them. I'm saving for my own ' man cave' at present.
Trouble is all of my large items had to go into self storage, including the layout as there isn't enough room at my mum and dads...... Hence no building.

Iam pleased to say all of my locos are with me though but unfortunately I can only letch at them although when I need a fix I set up a set track oval on the kitchen table and run my favorites just like I did when I was 8!

I'm looking to move into a new place by September this year, and then have a dedicated railway room.
The layout will be re-born! I currently am accumulating lots of n scale bits at moment ready.

Just wanted to say a big thanks to all my mates on here you have helped me through the last 5 months (you know who you are guys ) and a big thanks to my mum and Dad. Although I'm in my mid 30's I have really gotten close again to my family and finally no one can beat mums Shepard pie ;)

Things are looking up :beers:

Great to hear you sounding so positive Owl.  Good luck finding somewhere big enough for your layout.

Mind you, I confess to building that in 1971, way before I started my current layout.
Heck, Rome wasn't built in a day, they reckon. Cheers! (by the way, this is my first attempt at embedding images - fingers crossed)

Thats a flamin disaster Dave, I know how you feel though as I am on my 3rd Marriage, each time I get kicked out I hook the caravan to the car and move on, I already have my ideas for a caravan layout worked out so if I get told to vanish this time after 25 years I will know what to do.

1st - become trailer trash
2nd - build an aluminium annexe onto the side of my caravan
3rd - make a vow to myself never to hook up with another sheila
4th enjoy what time I have left on planet earth doing my own thing and enjoying this great hobby

All the best Mate and hope things work out for you in September
Keep on Smiling
Dave.

On revisiting this topic, I hope I haven't upset you, Owl, by appearing frivolous. I was actually repying to the pub crawl post by Minzapint, which I thought was hilarious. I was also chuffed that I'd managed to include photos for the first time. I did not realise that it would be tagged on the end of your current discussion.
I too, have had marital problems over the years. I tend to think many of us probably have, but as railway modellers we don't like discussing it. All the best, mate, and keep on modelling! I'm enjoying a resurgence at the moment, restoring and finishing the layout I have not worked on for almost 14 years - and yes, you guessed it... because of marital difficulties. Chin up mate.

Not at all mate  no problems. Believe it or not the worst is behind me and I'm actually enjoying single life with no SWMBO to be obeyed any more. Trains, beer, late nights, junk food, football whenever I want.........
I have had much support from friends on here so many thanks for your kind comments and I think your pictures look great. Just post some more! :smiley-laughing:

Well I was going to do great deeds and "*****" wonders (platform ledges on a scalescenes kit) the rheumy eyes weren't up to it and desperate for some layout pics I'd not seen before went on to RMweb and found "Torrington" a lovely thread with loads of pics and well worth a look. Ok not our gauge but I just love good layouts whatever their size from Z to the real thing

Hey all,my reason for not getting the layout done is I'm an olympic silver medallist procrastinator. At the.moment I'm doing the wiring on my layout for dcc,god what a boring job.
Should have enough done over the weekend so I can run some trains on dcc after I've hooked up the Zephyr. Then all work will stop again so I can ask a million questions on here regarding shorts and no doubt dodgy running.
Hey Owl,I split up with a woman in 2009,what a piece of work she turned out to be,let me tell you.Fortunately,we weren't living together or owt, thank god.
Then again,I hadn't got back into model railways then either,so as a single bloke,I don't have anyone chirruping in my head about how we don't have money for daft choochoo's cos this or that needs paying.I still see her occasionally and one of my mates saw her as well once and told her about my train habit, which made her laugh apparently, daft woman. This is where daft choochoo's comes from.Some.people can.be quite spiteful and intensely irritating.
Bealman, you come from Wollongong I see,do you know that your town is quite prolific at making World Superbike Champions, namely Troy Corser and Troy Bayliss and some also rans I've forgotten the names of.Don't know how big a town or city it is because I've never been there, just wondered if you knew this minor fact.
