The pictures speak a thousand words, my pal Eddie said fancy a pint    out came the bus passes and off we went. Started @ my local 1st pic, then bus to Wimborne 2nd & 6th stop (the bus stop is right outside! we missed 2 on the way back!) 3rd 4th & 5th and finally in our local Legion. My Avatar features the Strong Country so have included pic of the only original window in "The Bell" 4th stop.

Now for some serious modelling!

I don't have a 'local'.  We have to drive anywhere, so generally just get beers from the petrol station round the corner (they have a fine selection).  Beer and modelling, how good does it get!

But why have I made slow progress on Reading General lately?...

I have got a bit distracted with Airfix and Revell kits.  I got the bug with Concorde, then built a Battle of Britain set, and an SR-71 Blackbird, all in 1/144 (almost N gauge).  I have a 1/144 Boeing 707 to do yet.  All but the SR-71 will find a home above the layout.

Currently I'm in the middle of a 1/96 scale Saturn V rocket and a 1/48 DC3 with a 2-foot wingspan.  And I just took delivery of a 1/24 scale Routemaster Bus.  I also have a Space Shuttle and Launch Tower with several sheets of photo etched details to build, but that will be a long-term project.

Plus I just sit and watch the trains going round.

Presumably 'cos you don't want all that fuel leaking onto the layout  :o

Meanwhile, back on topic, I won't have my man-cave built until May so all hell will break loose then as I have 38yds of new code 55 + all the other bits of track I have accumulated plus at least 42 points, underlay, switches etc etc ad infinitum but, hey, I can't wait to have something running on a good size trackplan. Not having any kids this is my Christmas present to myself and I'm just like a kid in that the excitement is kicking in NOW! :D

My P.C. is in my railway room, spend so much time reading posts on here I never seem to make much progress with my layout! :o :-[

Got to agree with the last 3 posts spend more time reading about it (forums) than doing it, they certainly consume time do they not.

Guilty as charged ! Most of my progress was when my internet was down.... ::)
If it's got rails... you have my full, undivided attention - Steam, diesel and electric, 'tis all good !

I think I must have inherited a load of female hormones from me Mum cause I suffer from the Yes No, Will I or Won't I syndrome and sometimes get headaches

That is to say I have periods of time when I give the layout a rest and spend time with SWMBO and other times I work on the layout to get away from her

Ive done nothing to either of mine since before Christmas. :'(
Not from choice but because of chest problems from the glues, flock dust etc.
Now the fine weather is here I can look forward to working with the windows wide open and plenty of fresh air circulating. The 1st moves I think will be to 'air blast both boards with the compressor to clear any dust etc thats settled over the months followed by track cleaning and general maintenance .........Oh and kit building of Z gauge houses
