So....who is going to win the final this evening ??
My money (well actually not literally 'cos I'm not a betting man) is on Germany.
And...........if it doesn't rain , a thrilling and unexpected end to the Test Match as well !
I'm sure I'll get used to cream first soon.

I'll be up 5am Oz time to find out....
Vision over visibility. Bono, U2.

I'd put my whole Graham Farish collection on the block that it will be Germany who win ....

... for Argentina to win? Hmmmm .... I'll offer a split gear.

Any takers?

I'd like to think tonight's game will be tighter than most folks think :hmmm:
Argentina have really made huge strides defence-wise and can be pretty quick on the break. Trouble is, they are still hugely reliant on Messi either doing the job goal wise or attracting all the attention which could release other players. My feeling is Germany will triumph as they are just more of a team rather than a collection of individuals who happen to wear the same colour strip.

As for the 'Bronze' medal play off last night, it was so obvious Brazil learned nothing from the defeat by the Germans, as well as the 'Flying Dutchman' being in action several times but at least he gained them a penalty (which wasn't one) which was the aim of his antics ::)

We were visiting my parents yesterday and Mum asked who I thought would win too?
Like I said, we won our wars against both of them, who cares who wins the footie match   ;)

We will, of course, be watching tonight and given, if it hadn't been for the Argentinian invasion, I would never had the opportunity to enjoy the beauty of the Falkland Islands (I went after the war obviously, the RAF didn't pay me enough to actually fight in it!) I am hoping for a moment of magic from Messi to win the game.

There was a real 'Flying Dutchman' when Van Persie was sent into orbit, felt sorry the Brazilian got a yellow card. At least Roben got one in this game.

I'll probably watch the match, thank goodness its the last one. I hope both teams lose.

Sooo........we have a winner, and I reckon most would agree that Germany were worthy winners, too. Argentina couldn't take the chances they created, and the winning goal deep in extra time was a stunner.
Now I can leave footie alone for another 4 years and will be concentrating on the spectacle that is the Tour de France and the upcoming 2nd Test v India :)

I'd go along with that. Well done Germany. Worthy winners overall I feel.

Certainly the best team won the tournament. I think Argentina gave them a run for their money, certainly more than most we're expecting.

Now, onto the question, the best World Cup ever? Certainly the best in recent times IMHO!

Any of them that are finished  >:D  :D

All sorts of statistics quoted about number of goals etc but I'd say it was 'one of the best' I have seen for donkeys years :claphappy:
Not sure it's done Brazil any favours financially but that's getting into a political area and das ist verboten :zippedmouth:

I really enjoyed this World Cup..looking forward to Euros...Cricket to keep me happy until the Autumn.....still the so called expert pundits talk about the Germany high line defence as being a weakness and Nauer the goalie is due a mistake....but neither happened because they are simply better players than the home nations are producing and the pundits continue to demonstrate how tactically inept they all are.....
