I was given a hardback book (not railway related) and yet the person knows I have a Kindle  :headbutt:

Need a doorstop ???

Only railway related stuff was a rather interesting "British Steam Engines" book (looks like a M&S special reprint) - intro by O.S Nock

and non-train related bits included

1/48 Mig 21 Profipack Eduard kit + reference book (I arranged the purchase to make sure I got the right Mig variant)
and big surprise was a Lego R2-D2 (bit of a 3-D puzzle that will keep me quiet for ages).  On stage 3 of 10 so far - keeping to one stage per day at the moment.

N scale LMS 1930's and a mixture of modern stuff I could not resist...

My good lady got me a Farish Class 101 3 car in blue, and my daughter and her boyfriend got me a DVD/book set of Flying Scotsman.

Very happy, my fiancee always said to me 'I'm not buying you trains!!', and after 10 years she's relented.

Happy modelling, Timmo

Well I was going to have a rest from the hobby for a while but its hard to do when the family spoil you with railway related gifts, it seems my mate was also involved by choosing 3 second hand locos off the internet for my wife to buy.

A set of N Gauge roadside notice boards.
A very nice British Steam loco Coffee Mug.
various 2013 calenders.
An AE Williams Pewter Pocket Watch on a Chain with the Flying Scotsman on the front.
Farish BR 2.6.4T, BR Black5 and BR 94xx

Also decided to change my forum name from oldrailbug to longbridge1957, Longbridge being the new layout that I will recommence building.

Happy New Year everyone, hope your 2013 is full of happiness and good health.
Keep on Smiling
Dave.

My Christmas presesnt is still en route thanks to the SA post office, it's a Dapol class 67, fingers and everything else crossed that it gets here. Our posties get caught unawares by Christmas every year and chaos ensues.   :(

I also hope that none of them decide to keep the parcel, this does happen even if parcels are sent signed for.

I should probably not have risked getting a loco in the first place but the price at Model Trains Direct was irresistable.

Regards

Veronica

Hope your loco arrives soon, Veronica.

Happy New Year to you.  :beers:

Nothing train related  :veryangry2: but I am finally getting my passport sorted courtesy of the other half...

How much does it cost in NZ for a passport?
In the UK it costs £85 for a renewal :veryangry:
Another reason for lack of Blue Pullman was I needed a new passport.
You are lucky Owl. Cost me E200 to get mine. Had to send it to the British onsul in.... Paris (I live in Italy), then they send it to the UK !. :headbutt:
They returned it by courier (DHL) and the day after it arrived another courier delivered the old used passport.

Move to the angry thread.

I also need anew xmas keyboard as this one keeps missing out letters, or is it the wine ?
Some days its just not worth gnawing through the straps.

Blu-Ray player.  Pain in the butt is though, there's only one HDMI socket on my TV, so it's a hassle switching between it and the HD box.  Now why can't they make them with an HDMI-in socket so you can daisy chain HD stuff?
They're there for their tea.

Only opened one prezzie so far, got to go to No1 Daughters house near Pirbright. It is train related, it's the Flying Scotsman Desk Lamp, from my lovely wife  :D :D

Still no BP though and I doubt I'll be getting one from Santa this year  :( :(

Oh well will have to hurry and sell all the rest of my 'Orribly Oversize stuff and buy it myself.

Merry Xmas everyone.

Neal.

Time to update this list, courtesy of my good lady wife again is a Flying Scotsman wrist watch, basically a wrist watch with an open mechanism made look like gears (If that makes sense!!)

I also got a box set of DVDs about the Flying Scotsman, from No1 Daughter and Son-in-law I finally received something to run on my layout, the triple Weathered Shell Black TTA's and a DVD Boxset of Great World Railway Journeys.

So no BP, but never mind I've sold enough of my OO stuff to warrant a purchase from Rails  :D :D Just don't know when they're going to despatch it though, or even if they have any in stock  :worried: :worried: as it only says 'current item' alongside the photo on their website. Maybe Ollie can enlighten me??

Regards

Neal.

Merry Christmas everyone, I know it's late lol. I got the normally smells socks and chocolate, plus wife thought it be funny to buy me a the Olympic velodrome scalectrix as a joke because I won a Scott racing bike in the Cpls Mess Xmas draw (£750 quids worth) so she thinks I'm Sir Chris hoy and Sir Bradley Wiggins lol.

She was unsure what to get me for the choo choo so I'm getting money at a later date. The in-laws gave me 100 quid which is going on a Flying Scotsman. However to my sadness I went into my LHS in Dereham to find out its closing down :-( so they are not sure if they will be able to get it for me by end of Jan when the shop shut. And the parent shop is in Kings Lynn to is to far for me to travel.  So I'm not with out a LHS that deals in Ngauge. Gutted isn't the word.
