Hi Bob,

I couldn't find "Connections" but found this, very pleasant...

The Browns aren't really my thing but great harmonies.

Cheers,

Tim

Glad it wasn't just me who couldn't find it.
I had a little listen to some of Lynne W's stuff and it was nicely listenable.
Like @Moonglum , The Browns aren't for me.
I'm sure I'll get used to cream first soon.

There are a fair few bands of this genre that I like - Snow Patrol included.

I think I'm too old to know the definition of 'indie' :-[
I just know what I like and what I don't (and not in my wardrobe) ;)

Maybe it's the Genesis of a new musical direction for you.

Connections is Lynne,s second  CD it was released in June last year and I bought my signed copy from Lynne at BOARS BRIDGE CHARITY FOLK FESTIVAL
She has released 2 CDs of her own but I have several when she was in a group called Tudor Lodge, Unfortunately John C Stannard one of the other members passed away a few years ago and Lynne named her First CD   FOR JOHN It has one or two covers including
Mike Batts Railway Hotel which I think is one of the best tracks on it .
But of course Lynne will never replace RUMER who will always be my idol I have nearly all of her CDs  personally signed by her when she and her husband Rob Shirakbari and her son Denny visited me and even came down the shed and operated my railway ,Denny loved my Pendolino and my scratch built Blue Pullman as they ran very fast he didnt like my long freight train it was BORING .

Very nice @Newportnobby , I remember the single "Martha's Harbour" (1988) but didn't invest any further.

My first CD was Erik Satie's 3 Gymnopedies and other piano works - Pascal Roge.

Cheers,

Tim

Ery nice Mick.
My first CD was Welcome to the Pleasuredome by Frankie Goes to Hollywood.

Would you believe that these days I don't have any CDs (I once had hundreds) nor a CD player.
I'm sure I'll get used to cream first soon.

At home I use my 1988 Pioneer 6CD stack system for 'proper' listening with a surround system.
On the computer I use a USB with about 7500 tracks on it and duplicate that in my Qashqai.
Sometimes when I'm working in the kitchen I use my iPod Classic.
I just can't imagine life without music

I have no idea what my first CD was but probably some sort of compilation from Woolworths. I do have a CD player but not downstairs. Mine is in the loft but is rarely used. Most of my music is put onto my PC through iTunes and then copied to USB sticks to be used either in the garage/patio or the loft and usually on the random setting for variety.
I have tried not to buy too many CDs as those below are enough for now. According to my CD spreadsheet (everyone has 1 of those don't they?) there are currently around 690 on these racks and only 20 of them are Pink Floyd. There are of course others from each member of Floyd so maybe another 20 of those too:

Yeah, my CDs don't get played these days either. CD player is buggered. Mrs B likes quiet in the house anyway.

First CD I bought was Rattle & Hum, U2. It's in the dim and distant past, but I think first vinyl album was either Disraeli Gears or the CBS sampler The Rock Machine Turns You On.

I was given the double vinyl Deep River by Mark Knopfler last year, but haven't been able to listen to it yet as the aforementioned system is knackered!

First vinyl single was probably America by The Nice, or Pinball Wizard by The Who.
Vision over visibility. Bono, U2.

I don't have a "first vinyl single bought" because I bought 2 at the same time. Sgt Rock (is gonna help me) by XTC and Start me up by the Stones. Not sure on my first LP, I would have to dig them all out and see which has a sticker with the number 1 on it.

Yeah, some of my stuff has mysteriously disappeared, Island sampler You Can All Join In, and CD Jimi Hendrix Greatest Hits....

Mrs B used to hate me playing those. Strange, that  ;)
