I had all four of mine out, before they came through, in 1985. Luckily my dad had Bupa cover through work, so it was organised for when it suited me (just after I finished my A-levels), with a private room and they even asked me what I wanted for breakfast and which paper I'd like in the morning. All went well and the only after effects were a few days of mild discomfort and swelling.

A friend had the same, but on the NHS. He was in and out the same day and suffered for weeks with splinters of tooth coming through the gums.
I had all mine out on the NHS in 1987, as they were impacting the teeth in front. I was in a side room for my entire stay. Looked like a hamster for a few days, but otherwise no significant discomfort, other than contracting rubella from one of the nurses....

Rubella isn't so bad though is it?

All the best for finding an architect and the new build when they've designed something you both like.

It sounds an ideal place to build a new home - congratulations. (And you get your 'five a day' for free!  ;) ).

I used to be indecisive - now I'm not - I don't think.
If a friend seems distant, catch up with them.

Praise be unto Clarke Railworks, their Mighty N Scale department and the sales staff!
Blessed is the cheeky asker, the voucher bearer and the money off.
Righteous is the delivery from the packaging department, and speedy is the post office.

 :admiration:

In other words, new toy on the way.

There should be a "Not sure if I'm happy" thread.

A couple of blokes in bright shirts showed up yesterday and said the power was going off for an hour to an hour and a half, and asked if anyone was on life support equipment. That was considerate of them, I thought.

Anyway, they were stuffing around all morning out at the meter box. I wandered out to take some garbage out when it occurred to me to ask them what they were doing.

Turns out they took out the old electricity meter (the one with all those black wheels spinning around), and replaced it with this digital gizmo. I assume the white box on the side is some sort of transmitter so they don't have to come into the property to read the meter.

Anyway, power came back on, and all is well. But I'm still not sure if I'm happy or not!  :uneasy:

those of you who know me will know that mentioning that so called courier company, that rhymes with the word for a country farm worker is a sure fire to make me incandescent with rage.

BUT

bought an item off fleabay the other day, and it arrived this afternoon, via them.
order dated 26th, dropped off at their collection point 26th, delivered today 29th.

if I moan about poor service, I also have to comment on good service, and to my mind this was exceptional.

I can't think of a courier company which rhymes with Worzel Gummidge.

a few days ago I posted how surprised I was with good service from Yokel.

even more surprised today when an item I ordered and paid for yesterday was delivered this afternoon.
not lost
not delayed
just collected, sorted, and delivered. within 24 odd hours.

must go and lie down, but had to note the vast improvement by this company.

ISTM a lot of how reliable a delivery company is, is how reliable their local driver is...

We used to have fantastic UPS service here; then they re-jigged the areas & we got a new driver, and the service went right down the pan.

I've no idea what it's like now - we stopped using them.
Cheers!
Ade
