I know there are a few Jetheads on the forum and I've just noticed on BBC4 tonight at 21.00 there is the first of a two parter about jet aviation, starting with the 1950/60's

Thanks for that

Military tonight so might be switching channels after five minutes, hoping the second episode will be commercial  ;)

Here's one for military Jet Heads...

Argentine Air Defence Site:   'Unknown aircraft you are in Argentine airspace. Identify yourself.'

Aircraft:   'This is a British aircraft. I am in Falklands airspace.'

Argentine Air Defence Site:   'You are in Argentine airspace. If you do not depart our airspace we will launch interceptor aircraft!'

Aircraft:   'This is a Royal Air Force Tornado fighter ............. send them up, I'll wait!'

Argentine Air Defence Site:   ( .... total silence)

Last weeks episode was very interesting, I watched it again when it was repeated yesterday  :-[

They showed the failures as well as the triumphs, I doubt whether an American documentary would be as frank.

cheers John.
