Hi everyone,

Last year I took part in the 'Falklands Challenge' which involved doing a fundraising walk in South Devon to raise money for The Veterans Charity. With the help of many people I managed to raise over £430.

This year I've set myself a target of £500.

If you'd like to know more about the amazing work The Veterans Charity does, then please follow the link below.

A big thank you to John @Train Waiting for his generous donation.

I'm still quite a way off my £500 target, so I'll give it another plug.

Any amount you can donate, however small, goes a long way to help armed forces veterans with immediate needs assistance. This can range from fuel cards to get them to a job interview, food parcels to help them through, etc..

Please, if you can, help.

44 years ago the battle to retake the Falkland Islands was in full swing. HMS Sheffield, HMS Ardent, HMS Antelope, HMS Coventry had been sunk, the Atlantic Conveyor had been hit by two Exocet missiles and 77 British military personnel were dead with numerous casualties.

Since then, many British service personnel have lost their lives, & countless more have suffered, and are suffering hardships due to PTSD & injuries suffered in service.

Any donation you can make, however small, goes a long way. I'm still quite a way from my £500 target that I've set myself.

And the Sir Galahad, unarmed and undefended. A sitting duck. Why, oh why?

With all good wishes.

I'm a little confused as the original target was set at £100 so, once that was passed, maybe it took away some incentive for folk to keep giving :hmmm:
Just £20 to go now  :claphappy:

Mick,

Last year they used another intermediary for the finances, you could change the info, adjust your target etc..

This year they've used Just Giving. You can't rewrite your info or adjust your target.

I raised £430-and-a-bit last year, so it was I that set my target. I've had an afternoon of 'tin-rattling', both here & on my contacts list and given people a bit of a gee-up.

You, sir, have done me proud, as have a couple of other folk on hear. A shout out to @martyn who has also graciously donated this weekend.

Thank you ALL.
