Not too bad here today - I was out on the water training yesterday and today ( Dragon Boat ) - only 30degrees and nicely overcast today ( yesterday was warmer around 32 with direct sunshine ). We have a big race next week in Osaka however the forecast there is still nice and low at 32C. It doesn't really get super hot hear until next month. Last year it got over 41C in several places.

It was always a sod of a job to ring the doctors to get an appointment. Lines not open until 08.00 then you find you're 18th in the queue (how does that happen?).
No internet bookings. I use the Patient Access website but really can only order repeat prescriptions as my GPs surgery doesn't allow contact off that site.

Now they've changed things again. To get an appointment you have to go to the surgery website and fill in a 'triage form'. If you're incapable of doing this you can call the surgery and the receptionist/telephonist will do that for you. You cannot ask her to make an appointment. Oh, and they are now called 'care navigators'.
What the hell kind or world are we living in?

The doctor's surgery obviously does not want their pristine waiting room to be filled up with oiks with maladies, nor for their 'care navigators' to actually do any work. If it wasn't for the fact my GP is quite a decent one I'd tell 'em where to stick it all and go elsewhere, but even that could be leaping from frying pan into fire

My GP is also useless, known as the pill pushers. Now if I have something needing a visit I have to email or phone the Dorset NHS. I'm 92 and now registered "housebound". In over 12 years with this GP I've only managed to get 2 doctors visits both times by a male locum, only saw a male doctor at the surgery one time and he was a locum.
The 2 male doctors who own/manage the practice, work out of different premises on the other side of town - never seen either of them, their local premises are staffed by all women GPs apart from occasional locums; the only time I was "happy" to have a female GP was for a prostate exam, the ladies have smaller fingers!!

I like this forum. I do, I spend a good bit of time here. It's a nice community and shows some terrific modelling.

It may be the hot weather we've been having, but...

Why when a new model is announced is it swiftly followed by twice as many negative comments as positive ones? - even when many of the comments apply to existing versions of the same model.

Then there's the comments along the lines of "I won't be buying one - wrong colour/wrong era/wrong number/wrong newspaper on the drivers desk". Great, thanks for letting me know - that's added nothing to the discussion.

Bamboozlement - a number of times questions have been asked, detailed replies have resulted followed by the original question asker coming back with "Erm, thanks but I don't understand a word of what's been said". Often a reply is offered aimed more appropriately to the OPs knowledge level which is great. However, further advanced replies still are still made, which while correct will still be way over the head of the OP and only confuse further.

It's really easy to reply to threads. But pause. Think. Does what I'm about to say add anything useful? Will what I'm about to post confuse rather than clarify? If I'm posting something negative, does it really need to be said? If I do think it needs to be said, has someone already said it?

I agree, but at least it's not as bad as car forums where they draw blood and threaten to off their dog.

I agree with much of what Steven says despite maybe being one of the most flippant members. I don't know much technical stuff so tend to sit back and learn rather than proffer incorrect advice. It has to be remembered, though, we have just over 10,000 members and, to state the obvious, we are all different. OK, it's only a very small hard core who post regularly and I'd suggest if an OP doesn't understand the reply they get in touch with that responder via PM to avoid being further confused.
The nearest I've come to this happy community is the Kawasaki Owners forum but the Qashqai one is not good at all
