I suspect there is no human intervention so surveys are unlikely to feature, the e-mails are more likely a completely random mail drop sent to all subscribers and rather like the supermarket aisles they are looking for people to buy that "bargain" that they don't need and would never proactively look for.

I get the Rails e-mails but delete most without even opening them, most of the time the "bargains" are the same slow selling models as previously promoted, I guess I should really unsubscribe  :hmmm:

As long as it's not a 'desperation' issue :uneasy:

Since my post earlier I've had a further 2 marketing emails from Rails. That's now 16 since Saturday and 3 today! The unsubscribe button has been pressed.

Hi

Got back from a holiday away to find a lovely scratch down the wing of my car that had been left at home. £156 to sort it out.

Cheers

If parked on the street it could have been anything. If parked on the drive my suspicion would fall on the posties mailbag :hmmm:

Hi

On the drive and I'm pretty sure it was the window cleaners ladder but I can't prove it.

Cheers

Sounds like that old movie "Confessions of a window cleaner"  ;)

I don't easily get annoyed but like others Rails of Sheffield have become way too persistent with their marketing so I've unsubscribed from their emails.

Marketing is a tricky business to get right but RoS have very much got it wrong.
The emails, and website for that matter, are a mess and overloaded with offers and gimmicks which do nothing for me.

Sorry Rails but enough is enough.

Sorry Rails but enough is enough.

Maybe I'm a spoiled American, but getting super-excited emails about "5% off!!!!!" Is almost offensive.

You call that a sale?  ;D
Spend as little as possible on what you need so you can spend as much as possible on what you want.

Has anyone provided feedback to Rails about the huge amount of emails that include very little N gauge news and information about the primary interest of the potential customer? Perhaps they could structure the marketing output to include only specific news about particular scales/gauges chosen to prevent people being overwhelmed with information about scales and gauges that are of no interest.

That post doesn't indicate that the suggestion I posed was actually made or what their reaction to the email was. It'd be nice to put some pressure on them about wanting only specific information about N gauge/scale.

Would have been a bit pointless me emailing them and not asking them to make them scale specific as that what we've been talking about ;)
As it is they haven't replied but I don't expect them to. However, if enough people email them saying the same thing something might happen.
