Wow, can this f-er get fired? I used to go searching for the supervisor. It seems that these folks are waaaayyy too comfortable in their jobs.

When it comes to prostate, I was told that you have to monitor changes. I do the blood test and if the number changes, then I need to start asking questions.

Phone call from spinal consultant never happened. Snotty letter fired off resulted in an apology and rebooked for 7th October. In the meantime I applied for a Blue Badge just to be able to park nearer buildings I want to get to. Posted a letter to my GP requesting an appointment so I could gauge how up to date he was on my issues. Basically all I got was tea and sympathy only without the tea, as he shared my frustration with the NHS ::) Got home to an e mail turning down my request for a Blue Badge as I didn't meet the following criteria of the DfT:-

Walking does not psychologically damage me
I'm not a danger to myself
I'm no danger to others

For crying out loud, if I was any of those 3 they'd probably ban me from driving as well :censored:

How bloody stupid is that. Ridiculous.

The disability permit is the best thing I ever got! It worked in the UK while I was there, too. I'll be using it when I go to the tulip festival in Bowral this morning.

Maybe this shouldn't go on the angry thread, but the NHS seems to be the current topic.
I had my first ever experience of the NHS 2 weeks ago while in North Wales, when I managed to get a blockage to an artery in my left eye.
I initially went to Specsavers in Caernafon, who saw me almost immediately and charged my visit to the NHS.
Then seen at Bangor Hospital, where the wait times were quite reasonable and the staff very pleasant.
There is a reciprocal agreement between NZ and the NHS so we are covered while visiting. However, they didn't even ask to see a passport or anything else to check I was eligible.
The bad thing is that I was advised to go home to NZ immediately, which cost nearly $3000 to change the plane tickets. Also I missed TINGS! So perhaps a couple of reasons to be angry...

@JulianO
That's a bit of a shocker!
Have you had treatment in NZ and was it successful?
Presumably you weren't treated in the UK owing to recovery time, maybe?

I've tried to get medical and dental appointments when in the UK on several occasions over the years.  You're wasting your time.

well, I wondered how long it would be before I ended back on here.

the reason, Royal Mail, or as I prefer to call them royal snail.
this starded with Tesco Mobile advising me that my flip phone was not 4G compliant, and I would need to get a new 4G phone as they were sloly disconnecting their 3G network, due to be gone by the end of this year. shortly after this I got an e-mail to offer me a free upgrade to my handset to 4G. my favourite word, FREE.
I phoned them up, discussed this and explained I was very happy with the phone I have, but if they could give me a new one that would work on 4G that would be great. the advisor found me  what I wanted, ordered it and said that as he was unsure if my present SIM card was 4G compliant he would order me a new SIM as well, and when it arrived I could phone cutomer services and they would transfer my number to the new SIM.

so why, you are asking, am I on the Angry thread, and moaning about royal snail.

this now gets involved. the phone arrived a couple of days by DPD, who are great around here, but no SIM card, but I thought it would come by post, so left it a few days, and when it had still not arrived phoned customer services again.

I was then told that the order for the SIM card had not gone though, and the guy I was talking to said he would reorder it, and to save me having to phone up again, he would arrange for it to come out with the new number, he also explained that it would come by RM24, and my present SIM would be deactivated around lunch time on the day the new one arrived. I would then just put the new SIM into my new phone and be back on line.
the next day I received an e-mail to tell me my new SIM card had been despatched and giving me the RM24 tracking number.
ckeck tracking and sure enough despatched at 15:42 monday 17th, and arrived at Croydon MC at 19:23, due to be delivered tuesday 18th.

tuesday dawned, the morning passed, dogs were fed, lunch was eaten, post van was seen driving by, so I again check tracking, luckily by computer, as by now my SIM was deactivated.
my RM24 item was still at Croydon MC, and it stayed there till it was received at Gatwick MC at 19:48 on tuesday 18th.
many curses were called down on royal snail, but no doubt it would now arrive wednesday.
wednesday the 19th I checked again and yes, it had been received at Burgess Hill DO at 08:08 that morning, and was due to be delivered that day.
on thursday the 20th I laid in wait for the postie, stinger in hand to stop the van, taser ready if he ran, and around 13:25 I caught him, and finally got my RM24 parcel 3 days after it was posted.
no excuse as to why it had sat at the delivery office for over 24 hours, "Iwasn't working yestertday, I don't know" and apparently also didn't care.

needless to say, SIM into phone, now working, called royal snail so called customer services.
43 minutes listening to "unusually high volume of calls" or as I assumer, complaints. only to be told when I finally got hold of someone that the 24 hrs is only a target. in other words NAAFI, many will know what that means, though the forum would change it, it even changes Ria's description from the correct word to 'female dog'
so I am now in the process of trying to escalate this, but I will not be responsible for my actions if they offer me a book of stamps :-X  :*(

Yeah, I have had issues with Royal Mail as well. When I log in, nothing works. When I don't log in, then tracking works. I finally found  their contact info after weeding through all their "we don't want to hear from you" BS and logged in my complaint. What I get back from them several times, is the canned BS message of sending them the instances of the issue and  screen shots. What operating system and what browser I was using. I sent them screen shots, what browser, what operating system and what the issue was. Their response several times was to send the canned BS message asking for the same stuff. I responded  telling them I had already sent them that, and that they should read the history file, if there was one. I finally received a different email stating that everything was working as it should.

So basically, if you want to track your history of your shipments, don't log in. Are you kidding me? It seems they dropped my case as they haven't responded. I asked them to send me a customer feedback form and they have declined to do that as well. very weak.

If I can find their CEO/President/Head Honcho's contact info, I'll send them the entire thread and history and let that person know that their employees don't know, don't care, or what ever, and that their actions is severely marring the company's reputation.

Only 4G? At the end of last year they closed down 3G here. An was forced to throw a perfectly good phone away. Except it wasn't perfectly good, was it, as it wouldn't work on 5G, which is what we're on now.

Anyway I bit the bullet and bought the last Motorola in the shop (they were the cheapest and had been snapped up by other people in the same situation).

It's a bit of a rort, but it's been 12 months now and I'm actually pleased it happened. New speed and phone features great.
