Wow, can this f-er get fired? I used to go searching for the supervisor. It seems that these folks are waaaayyy too comfortable in their jobs.

When it comes to prostate, I was told that you have to monitor changes. I do the blood test and if the number changes, then I need to start asking questions.

Phone call from spinal consultant never happened. Snotty letter fired off resulted in an apology and rebooked for 7th October. In the meantime I applied for a Blue Badge just to be able to park nearer buildings I want to get to. Posted a letter to my GP requesting an appointment so I could gauge how up to date he was on my issues. Basically all I got was tea and sympathy only without the tea, as he shared my frustration with the NHS ::) Got home to an e mail turning down my request for a Blue Badge as I didn't meet the following criteria of the DfT:-

Walking does not psychologically damage me
I'm not a danger to myself
I'm no danger to others

For crying out loud, if I was any of those 3 they'd probably ban me from driving as well :censored:

How bloody stupid is that. Ridiculous.

The disability permit is the best thing I ever got! It worked in the UK while I was there, too. I'll be using it when I go to the tulip festival in Bowral this morning.

Maybe this shouldn't go on the angry thread, but the NHS seems to be the current topic.
I had my first ever experience of the NHS 2 weeks ago while in North Wales, when I managed to get a blockage to an artery in my left eye.
I initially went to Specsavers in Caernafon, who saw me almost immediately and charged my visit to the NHS.
Then seen at Bangor Hospital, where the wait times were quite reasonable and the staff very pleasant.
There is a reciprocal agreement between NZ and the NHS so we are covered while visiting. However, they didn't even ask to see a passport or anything else to check I was eligible.
The bad thing is that I was advised to go home to NZ immediately, which cost nearly $3000 to change the plane tickets. Also I missed TINGS! So perhaps a couple of reasons to be angry...

@JulianO
That's a bit of a shocker!
Have you had treatment in NZ and was it successful?
Presumably you weren't treated in the UK owing to recovery time, maybe?

I've tried to get medical and dental appointments when in the UK on several occasions over the years.  You're wasting your time.
