When not continental modelling, I like to wave my paint brushes about in other ways.

My sister breeds Ryleand Sheep in Scotland. I'm currently doing a series of paintings based on her flock. Medium is acrylic on coanvas board.

They're great Matt and you've certainly got the right name. ;D

They're beautiful paintings. I'd happily have something like that gracing our walls.

Very nice indeed.

Sometimes you bite the dog...

...sometimes the dog bites you!

I can explain it to you...

...but I can't understand it for you.

Very nice work Matt.  And like Mike, I would not complain if I had one of your paintings hanging on one of my walls. (My birthday is next May!  ;D).

I used to be indecisive - now I'm not - I don't think.
If a friend seems distant, catch up with them.

I was thinking actually of doing some train paintings (continental themed), to sell as high quality inkjet prints, as well as the original painting.

Here's a question though; if theoretically buying a print, would you prefer to buy it in a frame (something like wood effect, perspex glazing) or would you prefer to receive the print by itself to get framed by yourself. Print sizing would be in the 10" x 12" or 8" x 10" ball park, so not large.

Obviously if this were to transpire, I would advertise in the appropriate section of this forum.

Cheers
Matt

Although I wouldn't be interested in one of the prints myself, my opinion is that frames are a very subjective thing. The pictures we have in our houses are ones that we've had framed to match, as far as is practicable, existing frames.

The other problem is postage. A print on it's own can be rolled into a proper, and by that I mean a specific photographic one, tube and mailed out. The cost of packaging and sending frames, without carriage damage, is going to be steep.

P.s. If doing prints, don't forget to number and sign! People love limited edition (and you can charge a little more).

Great and useful feedback, thank you!

Starting work on a Köf II.

I took the reference photo for this loco almost exactly 1 year ago in Augsburg.

It was zooming about like nobody's business, was quite hard to get a snap!

Very impressive, Matt. On reading the title I assumed you combined your subjects - I envisaged lineside sheep, or a livestock train.

Yes I should probably start a different thread.
