Hello.
Do you know where I could find the dimensions of the wagon chassis from Peco and Dapol? In particular their length without buffers.
Thanks.

I've got wagons from both and should be glad to measure the underframes for you if you wish.

Best wishes.

The Table-Top Railway is an attempt to create, in British 'N' gauge,  a 'semi-scenic' railway in the old-fashioned style, reminiscent of the layouts of the 1930s to the 1950s.

Waving my vernier calipers over Peco and Dapol 7-plank 10' wheelbase, steel framed, wagons gives;

Peco - 35.9mm long across the buffer beams, by 15.6mm wide across the frames. The buffer beam width is 16.04mm.

Dapol - 35.7mm long across the buffer beams by 15.5mm across the frames. The buffer beams are very slightly narrower.

Many thanks.
I suppose the length provided for Peco corresponds to the 10ft chassis.
What about the 9ft chassis?

Sorry, haven't got any 9-footers so I don't know.

According to my measurements, solebars are 32.05mm long.  1mm for each buffer beam. Therefore, total length is 34.05mm.

Best wishes.

John

PS I'll build that kit some day!
