I'm sorry but like it or not expressions of disgust/approval or whatever regarding prison sentences for crime becomes political and I've removed it completely.
Everyone probably has an opinion on what constitutes 'punishment' but the forum is really not the place to broadcast it. If you feel that strongly about such things then maybe a communication to your local MP might be a better way.

I don't know what other members views are, but I joined this forum to discuss/read/learn/laugh about N gauge with a group of people with that as a common interest. I appreciate everyone has a view but surely this forum is not the place for discussion about significant issues that may cause distress to others? There are many other forums to discuss these issues, so please take those debates elsewhere. If there is dissent, let it just be about how to do something/make something etc in N.........

Full support to the mods on this one.

One of the stand out features of this forum is that we don't necessarily have to just discuss railways and models thereof. We have been given latitude to tell jokes, sound off in either Angry/Happy/Unhappy threads, talk about what we're listening to and all sorts of other stuff which goes to make up life in general. The day that ceases is the day I will leave.
Let's just keep the peace and enjoy what freedom the NGF gives us without breaking rules.

Just kidding  ;)

What Mick says is correct.

That's what makes this the best forum. We can have a laugh.  :beers:

Mr Sprue

A forum that is diverse makes reading posts a bit more interesting.

The NGF is a delight whose members respect each other (in my experience) and allows differing opinions without criticism.  There is such a range of views, approaches and a vast amount of knowledge and we can all learn from each other.  Damn, I love you folks! 😉

Also, did not realise the costs of NGF had risen so much due to updates etc.  I have just bunged a couple of Shillings in the Pot.

Kind regards

Yes, it is such a friendly forum.
We all have our individual interests within the hobby and all have our own skills so we can dip into individual posts which interest us, or not, as we please.
Above all I like the humour and the enthusiasm for the hobby.
By and large people don't take a "high and mighty" approach  (as I've witnessed elsewhere) nor do people adopt an elitist attitude.
I agree though that certain topics which may inspire controversial opinions should be avoided and closed down by the moderators if necessary.

I'm sure I'll get used to cream first soon.
